        Great service at this location. Came in for an oil change and I knew my tires were on their last legs but I didnt know just how bad they were until they showed me (and explained everything kindly and clearly without condescending). Got new ones installed quickly and for a great price with discounts. Thank you guys!

        I had an emergency with a nail in my tire so I stopped at Mavis in Cold Spring, NY, around 5pm; I think they close at 6pm. I live some 10 miles north. I've been to other Mavis stores but all pale in comparison to service and attitude. Justin (manager?) was very helpful, honest and polite. Rodney (technician) also nice. I appreciate honesty and professionalism. Not once they mentioned I needed a new tire (my tires have about 10K miles on them, so not that old). A similar situation with same car last year at another shop and the first thing they did was to try to sell me a new ..set of tries. I know what kind of punctures (usually sidewall) can't be repaired, but most can be repaired easily. I have done it myself with the simple tools and patches available at all auto shops. I just don't want to bother any more. The point is that if I need another kind of service on my car, I'd be more confident in going to this Mavis location and not to the Beacon one. ;) People rely on their cars and when something unexpected goes wrong it's probably a crisis moment, especially if someone doesn't have car knowledge. Unscrupulous mechanics take advantage of such situations to sell something unnecessary and, of course, lot more expensive. So kudos to Mavis of Cold Spring and to the people who work there!
