West End Cafe

A very nice restaurant with very good food however staff is not really up to par for the kind of restaurant this is. Normally for a nice dining experience the waiter understands the food and also has respect for the customer's dietary needs. I was interested in the pesto and asked the waiter if it has garlic in it as I have an allergic reaction to garlic cloves and can only have small amounts of maybe powder in my diet. I asked the waiter does it have garlic and he said oh don't worry about it I said Well I have to cuz I'm allergic I said do you know if there's any garlic in the pesto and he said no no not really I ended up eating it and getting really sick and ended up almost having to go to the hospital I don't know why he couldn't ask the chef for the money that we spend at that place You think you can talk to the chef about the ingredients of the food This isn't McDonald's after all needless to say I was in town for my mother's funeral and I ended up deathly ill because of a person who couldn't have any concern for my well-being even though I asked them to check for me They said no I don't have to check I know it doesn't have garlic Well guess what The pesto has garlic. It is a great restaurant but since I almost ended up dead I kind of feel like the staff should at least be trained on how to handle these type of situations a little bit better.

So disappointed fish sandwich had very little fish mostly coleslaw and my husbands beet salad was not seasoned so bland. .
