Camillus Pointe Senior Apartments

I moved from Monticello NY to Camillus Pointe 7 years ago to this date and have been very happy here. Since I have been here the rent has gone extremely high. I moved in paying my own electricity but about six months after they changed it to include it in the new renters lease. I still pay my own electricity and they seem to raise the rent with no discount to the increase for all. With the rental increase, the cost of my electric is really outrageous since I am now on oxygen which makes my electric extremely costly. The past few years the increases have been about two hundred dollars per year. Other than this complaint I do like it. Most of us are living on a fixed income which doesn't help.

I have lived at Camillus Pointe for almost 7 years. I have made many friends here and enjoy the activities. However, I am currently looking for a new place to live because Clover continues to raise the rent by large amounts. When I first moved in the increases were around 50.00 a month which was doable. However, last year it went up 180.00 a month and this year it is going up 255,00 dollars a month. This is totally unacceptable for seniors on fixed incomes.

The property manager, Tiffany is the best! She is understanding, patient, someone you can talk to, and great at tech support when I need her to help me with my phone! You will not get that sort of kindness, and caring support from anywhere else. The people here are so fun. I have many friends that I love to go out to lunch with. We go bowling, dancing, and other events to get acquainted. The bus trips in the summer to wineries are a HOOT! I am so happy living here.

I am glad to give a Google Review at this time. I am very pleased with the immediate staff at Camillus Pointe Sr. Apartments. Tiffany, Rose and John go above and beyond to assist all tenants. They are friendly to all and make everyone feel welcome. Unfortunately, John has left our building to pursue another position and he will be missed terribly. With the help of Tiffany and Rose, the activities committee works very hard to plan fun activities for anyone who wish to attend. There are great luncheons, card games, Bingo and Bunco evenings, several outings. These employees are all due a five-star rating and above. I have lived here for almost 7 years and have made several friends and enjoy their company. When I first moved in the rent went up $50.00 or $60.00 per year, In 2020 the rent increased $100.00. In 2023 the increase of 12% ($185,00) was a big shock. I have been told that when my lease is to be renewed my rent will go up $237.00 which is a 14% increase. I moved in at $1200 per month and now, this year will be at an astonishing $1932. This is a 61% increase, while senior citizens only see a 3% increase on their social security checks. Clover does not consider that we are all on fixed incomes and that our pensions and social security do not go up by that percentage. They advertise that they care about the seniors and have affordable housing for seniors but have proven with the amount of increases in the last two years that they do not care about us only about their own profits. If I had to rate Clover and their concern for the Seniors, it would be a ONE Star.
