I just moved to Catskill; a mile up the road from this fine establishment. After unpacking, my friend and I stopped into Mike's Diner and my initial experience was a feeling of comfort. The rustic atmosphere gave me a sense of warmth and nostalgia. People at the barstool countertop were eating breakfast; conversating amongst themselves while the families and friends at the tables joyfuly did the same. The smell of fresh coffee, eggs, bacon, ect, felt like I was truly home.
Much respect to the cook; the food was absolutely AMAZING. The waitresses as well. They were very kind, professional and persistent in providing the best service they could, which was more than enough.
ALSO, Mike's prices are VERY reasonable and affordable to treat the family. I'll be frequenting Mike's now that I'm aware of how great it is.
****I RECOMMEND THE BISCUITS AND GRAVY. THEY'RE SOOOOO GOOD...THEY REMIND ME OF MY ARMY DAYS BACK IN FT POLK LOUISIANA*****

Throw back diner with solidly reliable food, kind service, and reasonably priced. Had a yummy authentic diner breakfast. Fresh eggs, sausage, hashbrowns (with or without onions!), and toast. Also good ol fresh brewed coffee (no fancy latte capp stuff!) And the bran muffin was like eating a dessert (moist, dense, and molasses infused). TV in the corner had old reruns playing at a light volume which engaged fun conversation. Also a great sign - Stressed spelled backwards is Desserts! made us smile and reset our day for the better.
Many thanks to Katrinka (sp?) for her service at the counter and in the kitchen!
Locals continued to flock in.
Will definitely return.

Great food and wonderful service!
