Lived there most of my life. Never knew it existed. I guess it's more important to advertise their weather

The videos are pretty problematic. TR was famously a trust buster and suspicious of the robber barons but the videos lauded them with cheers and affection like they were made by some gilded era apologist. Then you had extremely short shrift given to the actual murder and intentions of Leon Czolgosz dismissing him as simply a "lunatic". Well no, he was offered an Insanity plea and turned it down specifically because he had a political agenda in his correspondence with Goldman. There's issues with their depiction of the Spanish American war as well as the Philippines and Cuban conservatorship resulting from it. They don't even mention the progressive era or have any analysis of what that meant but instead have this silly game in the first room about it. You win it, of course, by suppressing labor and being a robber baron. Cute. Real cute. I go to places like this hoping that the people there will know more, and not less about the topic than me. For history nerds and people who care about accuracy, this is a hard pass. It's like a 1990s era Rush Limbaugh's fan attempt at history.

Very impressive historical site. The small group experience was comfortable and the docent was very knowledgeable. The information was shared in a variety of methods including visual, audio, recreated spaces and physical spaces.

I am biased due to my respect and love of Teddy R. It is a modest historic building in downtown Buffalo. That does a great job keeping T.R.'s accomplishments alive.
