Finally, a real grocery store in Brooklyn with an excellent selection of produce, seafood, poultry, meat, prepared foods, household items, and pantry food. Love it! Cooked a great miso-glazed salmon with smashed potatoes!

The staff are incredibly friendly, the prices for high quality organics and a broad selection are reasonable (nothing in Brooklyn is cheap anymore and this is not at all the fault of small, independent grocery stores, rather massive inflation nation-wide and the governments lack of ability to do anything about this) and the owners are always striving to find ways to give back to the community. I highly recommend Food Garden. The prices here are far superior to Whole Foods, the products are better and even more local and regionally based than them and they even compete with Trader Joes price and selection-wise though they are not a massive chain. They also are very generous about the use of their community events bulletin board which very few stores have any more. All the prepared foods are particularly amazing.
