So lucky to have found Dr E Shapiros practice. He offers a unique fusion of traditional western medicine as well as traditional Chinese practices that complement each other beautifully and most importantly deliver great relief to a pair of aching feet. Moreover, the staff are fantastic, professional, helpful and caring. Great office space.

I came out to my mother as gay in 9th grade when she was married to Eugene Shapiro’s brother Henry Shapiro in the late 1990s. The next evening I was taken to Eugene Shapiro’s podiatry office at 301 Ocean View Avenue against my will. Eugene Shapiro with his wife Elena Shapiro, my then-stepfather Henry Shapiro and my mother Elena sat me down in the dimly lit lobby of Eugene’s office. Shapiros and my mother threatened to send me away to Conversation Therapy if I continued to say that I was gay. They told me that I did not know what I was talking about, and that “born this way” theories were lies. As a queer minor surrounded and intimated by four homophobic adults including my own mother, I had no choice but to comply. Shapiros set up an example for my mother to follow of how to emotionally abuse, intimidate and harass me for being gay for the rest of my minor and adult life.

Dr. Shapiro is a great doctor with a real attention to details. He patiently answers every question and provides minimally invasive treatment that allows me to maintain my active lifestyle, yet get better. I highly recommend Dr. Shapiro to anyone.
