Dumbo Moving and Storage NYC

As a moving company Dumbo Moving is the best! They have great employees who are friendly and knowledgeable. You have the option to have them bring you all the packing materials you need and also have them help you pack. I've used the company for multiple moves, and there has never been any damage to my items. I also used their storage facility in NJ. It is decently priced. However, it is not temperature controlled and in a wearhouse that is not the most secure. If you're looking to store your not so precious items at a good price, then this is the place.

Truck #153 - Mover Davit was friendly and they all worked well and quickly. I had to move twice because of a lot of things. The second group was hard working as well as the first group. This is my second time using Dumbo and I was basically pleased with their service.

Hello good evening we had a bad experience with your moving company they charge 250 dollars more and the guy in the office said we charge full amount 500 Dollars it exclude everything and the people Broken the bed frame and broken air conditioner fall down the stairs in the hallway got damage and not working

I wish I took a bit more time to look at the reviews before booking. I used Dumbo moving initially and it was a fairly nice experience. Movers came (uniformed and professional), broke down my furniture and put it back together at the destination quickly. They were as professional as you could get. The 2nd experience was a much different - shall we say "experience". Two men came (basically you could not identify them) with not even a shirt that said Dumbo Moving, the only way to distinguish them from someone off of the street was actually seeing them get out of the Dumbo Moving truck. They didn't speak much English, and while my Spanish is pretty decent, there was more than a bit of miscommunication in the handling of my furniture. From reading my contract, I thought I'd signed up for a service that said anything that has more than 8 bolts would be disassembled and put back together again, they did not. They somehow yanked my dining room table through the door of the old apartment and into the new one and broke my sofa when transferring it. They "broke down" my bed by only taking the headboard off and configuring the rest through the doors through some very artfully contrived gymnastics. They did not cover my televisions, though I was very specific in asking for covers (as was done the last time) and just sat it on the (at this point now broken) couch and gave me a thumbs up before trying to hastily leave. I had to move the rest of the furniture myself. When trying to seek reimbursement for the damages done by what I can only assume now were contractors, I was unpleasantly (but not really) surprised that the response I got from Dumbo was disinterested at best and very formulistic. They were more interested in my deposit being paid in full then hearing what kind of experience I had. Sold me on the upsell and then didn't want to hear about wanting to take advantage of the insurance that was so desperately needed after that experience. -1/10 would never use them again. Please read the reviews because your last experience won't necessarily be your next.

James was amazing at communicating with us during our recent move to TX. He called us before his arrival with the team on moving day, kept us updated of the deliverys status along the way and even called up after delivery to ensure wed received our possessions. We cannot thank him enough!
