I am compelled to recount a distressing ordeal involving Gilbert Ellis, who initially appeared as a trusted advisor for my tax affairs and facilitated the home refinancing of my mother and I in 2019 through his mortgage company. What transpired was a nightmarish betrayal of trust, underscoring the dangers of misplaced confidence and the devastating impact of deception.
Initially, Gilbert's expressed interest in my property seemed genuine, prompting me to place my faith in his guidance when it came to the selling of our current home. Little did we know, this decision would lead to this nightmare. His actions soon revealed a calculated scheme to exploit our vulnerability for personal gain.
Gilbert's manipulative tactics have now become apparent as he incessantly urged me to vacate my home, falsely claiming it would enhance its marketability for sale. Under the guise of helping me secure financing for the closing of my new property, he brought me an investor, he orchestrated a scheme where he fraudulently produced a fake deed, purportedly showing that I had sold my home to an LLC owned by him and his wife for a paltry sum of $10. This deceitful act was perpetrated without my knowledge or consent, leaving me and my elderly mother vulnerable to financial exploitation. This fraudulent act was uncovered when I insisted on requesting information regarding the investor involved in the financing process for the closing of my new home, Gilbert vehemently refused to provide stating the investor goes through him and all conversations go through him meaning Gilbert himself only. His subsequent hostile demeanor towards me further raised suspicions, prompting me to investigate the situation independently. To my shock, I discovered the fraudulent deed filed with the state of New York, confirming the worst has happened. This now explained the reasoning behind his hostile behavior towards me when I inquired about the investor.
It became evident that Gilbert was not only deceiving me but also actively concealing his fraudulent activities. He tried to defraud me and, in the process, put my elderly mother at risk as well.
Further investigation uncovered additional breaches of trust, including unauthorized attempts by Gilbert's company, GCT Mortgage, to access my personal information raising serious concerns about their integrity and indicating a pattern of unethical behavior. This egregious violation of privacy underscores the extent of Gilberts disregard for the law and the clients in which he and his company serves.
It is imperative that anyone considering engaging Gilbert's services exercise utmost EXTREME caution!!!! A simple online search reveals a disturbing pattern of fraudulent behavior associated with his name, including ongoing legal proceedings and accusations of deed fraud.
My mother and I are currently collaborating with the Attorney General and the District Attorney's office to rectify this injustice and regain rightful ownership of our property. The ordeal my elderly mother and I have endured serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance in safeguarding one's assets and well-being. Gilbert Ellis was arrested on 2/19/24 and charged with Grand Larceny for his acts. It is my sincere hope that by sharing my story, I raise awareness and can prevent others from falling victim to Gilbert's deceitful practices. In conclusion, please heed this warning and proceed with caution with Gilbert Ellis and GCT mortgage.
