I. J. Morris Funeral Directors

Raymond was our funeral director and he was every bit the consummate professional as well as the most tender-hearted person we could have asked for. He provided words of comfort, gave us a moment to say goodbye to our father, helped us place his favorite kippa on his head, and assured us all proper rituals were and would be performed. He directed the grounds crew unobtrusively and even shared a personal insight with me at the end of the service. I cannot say enough good things about him and how he handled our final duties to our beloved father.

IJ Morris offers incomparable service in every way. At a time when thinking of funeral details can be trying at best, they make everything so easy. My husband's family has used IJ Morris for 3 generations and will continue to use them for many more. A heartfelt thank you to Ian, who guided us through a very difficult time.

The Staff and Hearse Driver were sensitive and helpful. Rabbi Scott Matous was thoughtful and supportive. He conducted a family graveside ceremony for my beloved Mother and took the time to really get to know her by talking to my children and grandchildren as well as myself. His words captured the essence of the person my Mother was and what she meant to us all. I must express my appreciation to this warm, compassionate Rabbi and to IJ Morris for connecting us with him.

IJ Morris did a really great job with the funeral of my sister. They were compassionate, thoughtful and efficient. Their entire team was wonderful, and they went out of their way to make things easier. They let us drop off clothing in Dix Hills that they brought to their Brooklyn location. Their on-site cemetery team was empathetic and helpful. And the entire team explained things clearly every step of the way. I cant say enough about how great they were.

Despite pre-planning and pre-paying for both my mothers and brothers funerals, upon their deaths I was informed that everything was wrong and I owed them more money. For both! They wouldnt ship my mothers body until I paid the extra amount. It was blackmail at a time when I was reeling having lost them within 3 weeks of each other. When I should have been grieving, I had to spend hours, each time, having to straighten things out that were supposed to be covered by the contracts. In contrast, my in-laws had pre-paid their funerals through their local chapel upstate New York. Not only were their plans carried out smoothly and according to plan, we actually got a refund because interest had accrued to their account. It seems Dignity is taking over the Jewish funeral business. Because of their incompetence, I have decided to be cremated. Lots of luck.
