Our son has been attending The Brooklyn Daycare on 33rd Street for over a year now, and we have been very pleased with the quality of care that he receives there. The owners are organized and communicative and the staff who care for him are warm and welcoming. Our son is always happy to be dropped off there, and it brings us great peace of mind to know that he is well cared for while we are working. We toured several daycares before we decided on this one, and it was a standout to us. We would recommend The Brooklyn Daycare to anyone who is considering it.

Picking the perfect daycare is one of the hardest decisions as a mother..I had so much anxiety since my 1.5 YO at the time was a pandemic baby so all he knew was his nanny and our family. My baby would never let anyone hold him and would freak out if anyone ever came near him. I brought him with me when i went on the tour and shockingly he went to one of the care takers and held out his arms asking to be held!!!!! That was the second I knew this was our place! It gave me so much peace and as weeks went by, I got even more confirmation that it was the best decision i made because he loves getting dropped off and i could see the happiness in his eyes. To this day, he still keeps his circle super tight, but he LOVES the staff here and they really do feel like our extended family. We love Home Sweet Home! The cherry on top is the elaborate and over the top holiday celebrations, lunches and photo shoots they offer us! Gladys and Amanda have truly been a blessing to our family!

After having our son home his first year, enrolling him in daycare was nerve wrecking to say the least. We were unsure how he would adapt. Gladys and the team were really helpful with this transition. They have been warm and loving. My son has adjusted well. He does not fuss at drop off and walks out smiling at the end of the day. He is also developing his language, emotional, cognitive and social emotional skills.

We absolutely loved our time at the Brooklyn Daycare. We started our son there when he was 6 months old, and while leaving your baby is hard, they made the process as anxiety free as possible. He left happy everyday and we felt he was loved and cared for. The Brooklyn Daycare always communicated with us and answered every question or concern we had. We couldn't be more grateful for them.

Im still annoyed about this place.. and its been two years since we pulled my son from there. I was a new mom, very shy and new about the whole daycare thing and I guess I just assumed this was a normal. They boast that they cook all the meals homemade yet I was always made to bring my sons food (pure) so that they could mix it with what they made?! Made no sense to my husband or I either. When my son started eating pure instead of milk they kinda made it seem like I was a terrible parent because he was interested in their food so they had to give him some but please start bringing food for him. They definitely seemed to favor certain families. I was told a new location was opening at the time and that I should try there, so we made the switch only to find out it opened a half hour later than the regular, so I was constantly late for work, but again, I was shy and didnt want to speak up about it. My son was being treated for Asthma and actively working with a pulmonologist for months, which this daycare knew, but once the pandemic started, they said I couldnt bring him back because of his cough, which he had for months and a doctors note, with no other symptoms.. so that whole situation wasnt handled well and was the final straw of why we pulled him out of there. It just wasnt a good fit for us at all.. I always felt like a burden. Then I had to send multiple emails afterwards to get the tax paper. The positive things: I did like the picture updates (which heavily favored one location, which was not my sons), but I feel like most places do that now anyways. He had one teacher, I forget her name, that was very compassionate and helpful and I never felt he was unsafe there. He was always clean and happy when I picked him up. Really the only reason Im writing this review now is because we found a daycare shortly after that we LOVE. It was like day and night the difference it made having a daycare that truly feels like a support system instead of a tuition check. All in all, its not the worst place, but also not the best.

Hi Kellie--We are happy to hear that you were pleased with the actual child care the baby received and the service of the caregivers you engaged with daily. Our main priority will always be the children first and sometimes the parents needs or personal feelings throughout the new parent transitions are left out which apparently was the case for you 2 years ago. We are sorry to hear this. I won't get into responding line by line. So much time has passed and its counterproductive as nothing was ever addressed in the moment but we respect your feedback and are happy you found a place that serves both your needs and the babies. NYC is very lucky to have a great community of childcare workers. We hope all is well!!P.S- anyone in this industry is well aware that childcare providers across this country operate on a pennies margin (hence us charging you and all families significantly below minimum wage hourly). We charge less per hour for intimate, licensed and insured infant care than a teenager would make working in McDonald's. It is actually absurd. We have an outstanding team, modern immaculate facilities and an awesome program that has raised over 500 children in the community. We do cook fresh meals daily. Yes--we will always continue to ask any family to supplement our menu items should we deem necessary for health/allergy or any other reason we see fit after 12 years of feeding babies of all health needs in order to ensure they are well fed, nourished and content when they go home. The financial reality for childcare providers is that tuition is an afterthought when you barely charge people what your services are truly worth in order to stay affordable in the neighborhood and serve your community after a decade.
