Park Slope Schoolhouse Child Care Center, Inc.

Park Slope Schoolhouse is not just an incredible school but also an incredible community. From day 1, we felt supported as a family by the teachers, staff and other familiies. The school provides and encourages an inclusive, encouraging and supportive culture of creativity through active participation and play. We can see our son growing as an individual week over week, and it's so exciting to see the thoughtful, curious person he is becoming in large part because of the stimulating playful instruction of his caregivers. We have recommended PSS to many of our friends and neighbors and would do so to anyone with no hesitation. The facilities are clean, colorful and inspiring. The kids are constantly creating works of art that encourage dexterity, exploration and a keen appreciation for observing details. I am in awe of the creative projects that PSS does among the 3 classes, and the engaging activities in the playground and around the community (the kids visits to the grocery store are among the cutest things I've ever seen and my son was so proud of having gone shopping himself!). As a family, we have also been amazed by the culture of the other PSS parents. We have made many friends and always look forward to the social events which truly build a greater sense of community. One last thing, which is super important to our family - PSS has a clear focus on kindness that resonates throughout the classrooms and into the halls, and that kindness is a fundamental part of the culture that teaches and encourages students and parents alike.

My child is currently in the 3s class, the teachers have such a strong dedication to fostering a positive, safe and nurturing environment. My child has received individualized attention in the areas where they needed the most support. I have seen tremendous growth in only 5 months and can attribute that development to the teachers of the 3s class.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience at PSS. The teachers are wonderful and engaging, and our child is thrilled to go to daycare every day..truly! They have an amazing gym, backyard, and weekly programing, and are very communicative about the school day agenda, so we know what's happening! The school also does a fantastic job of building an inclusive community amongst families, so we always feel like an active part of our child's daycare experience.

We have attended PSS for our first daughter (now 6) and for our second (almost 2). PSS is great a community for first time, or even 2nd, 3rd time parents. I've always felt supported in my parenting, and felt the community and staff to be approachable. I love that both of my daughters receive such great care, without letting her get spoiled or dragged into a world of habits I can't ever get rid of. The level of engagement even in a young one's environment to the threes is evident in every classroom. If you are looking part of being somewhere special, that is not a revolving door of educators and families, this is the place for you!
