The expandable frames for linen are game changers - enabling me to work on the surface that I love without worrying about how sensitive it is to the environment. Barronarts helped create a wonderful project for us and Milton Academy in our Brooklyn studio. They made and delivered on time three - 6' x 5'6" stretched and primed canvases. Would give 10 stars if I could. Absolutely the best to work with - professional, helpful & delivers on time. They have made custom stretchers small & large for me for years and sculptural boxes. All expertly done & finished. Streamlined crating & shipping of artworks for me so I had no worries. Can be confident they will be reliable & do an A one job for you. The photo shows linen stretched and glued to two Sintra panels. I use two types of panel - birch for smaller works and sintra for larger ones. The traditional rabbit-skin glue applies perfectly to the Sintra panel. 100 grams of glue to one liter of water. The first layer I allow to dry and with the second layer I place the pre-stretched linen onto the panel press it out, turn it over and stretch and staple to the back. Remember the most important part of your painting is the support then the ground. I make my own traditional gesso. With these panels your work will out-live you!
