        Buddy's no longer owns the place that bears his name. That honor belongs to a guy named Karl. And Karl knows an awful lot about boats (wiring, plumbing, repairing and if you have a bit of time and a bit of patience, they will be well rewarded with hardware that is real stainless steel. And if you press Karl, he can make metric-sized hardware. He is also good for advice, and he doesn't try to up-sell you ( in fact, he will probably suggest a cheaper and easier way of doing the repair.) Karl is also pretty good at engine advice. And he is not West Marine.  He knows what he is selling and won't let you buy something that won't work. My one disappointment (and the reason for a 4-star and not 5-star review) is that Buddy's is not open on Sundays - even during the sailing season. So get there Monday - Saturday  - best before 4p.
