We were on a tight budget and they have a really good price for a viewing and cremation. Best price I could find. My daughter's mother passed away. They did everything with no problem except a few hiccups. The deceased ones chin and neck was a little different but we never asked one of the secretaries because our heads were somewhere else. We should have done that. The lobby is nice and the viewing room was ok, only thing is that the wood sidings on the wall was scratch up. New one would go a long way. They let the party stay a little later than the end time. The death certificate came early. We are just waiting for the cremation ashes

Beware!!!! Jasmine needs to be fired! Michelle has no accountability with her staff. We had no PASTOR I had to get on the podium MYSELF. Disgusting service and attitude.

I am here to share my experience. My name is Eileen and my son Victor passed on March 24th 2024.I initially went to their location on 4425 Broadway . I WAS NOT TREATED ACCORDINGLY by the employee there named Ana, when I went to initiate funeral services . She was so brute and unprofessional,lacked work ethic amd consideration for my family and myself,it was heart wreaking as we were in such pain &dispair due to our loss. An innconvinience rose and I had to go to resolve the issue to the Ortiz location on 524 Southern Blvd. Things took a turn ,I dealt with Ms. Michelle I must express how well we were greeted and treated by her. This lady expressed such concern ,understanding and was so ethical and compassionate she helped us so much. I truley appreciate the outcome of conducting my conversation and addressing matters with her. She delivered superior customer service to my family and I. I hope she reads this because I am very appreciative and satisfied of her service and the outcome of our conversations.Everything worked out well at the Broadway location thanks to Michelle's approach and solutions when addressing our issues.

Whatever you do, DO NOT have your loved ones services at Ortiz Funeral Home located on 524 Southern Blvd. After the loss of my beloved grandmother we experienced several issues with them. 1) The first was with the coffin. My family selected a navy blue color coffin and the day OF the wake, we get a call from Ortiz advising that the coffin would be grey with zero explanation as to why. It wasn't until I was present at the wake that employees of Ortiz told me the error was on behalf of the company that supplies the coffins. 2) The second issue was with the remembrance cards, they misspelled my grandmothers name to which we could not give out the remembrance cards the day of the wake. Not one but TWO Ortiz employees told me they would not only re-print the cards but also give us a refund for the error. When my aunt went to pick up the new cards an Ortiz employee said to her "why would we refund you anything if we corrected the issue?". Not only is this incorrect based on what two previous employees said to me but more importantly the lack of tact and the audacity to speak to a grieving woman who just lost her mother in this fashion is unacceptable. The only silver lining is that Erika was able to secure us the refund (to which I hope Erika finds a much better place of employment given she is the only one who understands how to bring humanity & respect into her work). 3) Lastly, the day of the wake I asked when the death certificate would be available. My grandmothers wake was on Sunday January 21st and I was told the certificate would be available Friday January 26th. Once again, when my aunt went to pick up the certificate, Ortiz employees with zero tact told her "It takes 15 days to get the death certificate". Which I would have been fine with if that information had been given to us when I asked on January 21st. In summary, I highly recommend anyone dealing with a loss AVOID having your loved ones send off at Ortiz Funeral home at 524 Southern Blvd. JM.
