Tool & Truck Rental Center at The Home Depot

Always a problem with the equipment. Nice staff but frustrating that the last 2 things I rented broke while using them. They were both pieces of equipment that I was familiar with operating. Did not have another one to replace them either.

No line. About 10 mins from when I walked in until the tools was loaded in my car, and the employee helped me load it!

The pull start broke on a machine I'd rented. They gave no discount of any sort for my time to return their broken machine. Those things break. I get that it happens. But the guy acted like I was insane for asking about a credit for my 2 hours of time/gas to exchange the machine for another one. I asked how much they charge for delivery and he simply said they don't deliver. No apology. Nothing. Instead he told me I had the machine for 7.5-8 hours before it broke, as if I was pulling on the cord that whole time. I checked my receipt and phone records- I called 5 hours and 18 minutes after renting it to tell them it had broken, and had it back to them within an hour. First and last time I rent from them. I was recently in another HD's rental/repair dept for repair on my own equipment (warranty issue). They gave a guy a few free hours when their piece of equipment had a similar issue to the one I'd rented. That's good customer service. Don't expect that in the Brewster location!

Very Unfriendly staff I just came back from HD. I wanted to rent a log splitter. Their staff said ok then silence. I asked how to go about it. He answered Well, how are you going to Haul it? My son said I have my truck. He then said, Where is it? My son replied, its parked in the parking. He said, Well, you gotta bring it here. My son went to get his truck. At all times, he did not tell us on really what needs to be done to rent. Its like interrogation of questions. I asked how much for the rental after he was ignoring me for a while. He said$130 for a day. My son got his truck parked. HD staff started writing something and checking the hitch. I said, on the web theres a 4-hour rental. He replied, thats the minimum. At all times, his not informative nor has a service attitude. Makes me feel that hes bothered or Im being discriminated. We left and did not do the rental. I felt belittled by HD staff.
