Pros: All employees that I interacted with were polite, initially. Cons: There is a river running through my garage every time it rains, my yard floods during heavier rain, weeds are growing up through asphalt because the weed barrier fabric described in contract wasnt installed, and Jim Spano (owner) refused to stand by his work and fix any issues without additional payment. Takeaway: Earth Road could manage a simple 1 or 2-car length driveway, in a flat field, with no adjacent structures (basement, garage, etc.) to flood. Anyone with a driveway that is even slightly more complex in terms of drainage/grading, please shop elsewhere. Edit in response to the owner: Jim Spano showed up for the first time on day 2 (out of 3) and immediately "identified" an issue with drainage at the garage. His only proposed solution was an additional $4,000 trench drain on top of the original $8,000 estimate. Keep in mind that a foreman with 20yrs experience, Dan, quoted the job at $8k and never mentioned a trench drain, even after I asked him if the 3-5% grade of the driveway posed any concerns for drainage at the garage. Oddly enough, the 3 other paving companies that I spoke with said with certainty that some patient, careful hand raking of the binder/topcoat would have been sufficent to create a shallow swale to direct water away from the garage door apron. I suggested the same approach to Jim and we verbally agreed to move forward with that plan. Jim abandoned the plan without consulting me, and instead paved a ramp down to the garage apron, overlapping it by 1/2". Jim couldn't be bothered to take an extra 5min to do the job correctly. Had I known Earth Road was this careless or incompetent, I would have gladly selected another paving company that was quoting the job at $10k. For anyone who wants to roll the dice, I'd suggest holding your final payment until it rains to verify that they didn't botch the grading and accidentally flood your basement, garage, yard, etc. Services: Asphalt paving & repair, Paving-related drainage

First, I want to say that the crew who worked at our property was very polite and extremely apologetic for cutting through our utilities, especially since all utilities were clearly marked. Our complaints are chiefly contractual but have to do with the poor and installation of our driveway. We did not receive the service we signed and when we attempted to discuss this with Earth Road, my husband's concerns were dismissed. The cracking that appeared almost immediately after the driveway was completed was blamed by Earth Road on our lawn service, and yet the very same cracking continues to happen at edges where no one drives or parks . Our initial contact was pleasant and I was able to talk through the drainage concerns. The description provided of the existing driveway removal, sub-base and base prep, and installation would have addressed the water concerns. Our hopes and expectations were high, to the point that we referred our neighbor to them. They also contacted with EarthRoad for driveway replacement. The gentlemen that showed up were professional and courteous. Everything went well and they completed both our and our neighbor's driveway replacement in two days. Several weeks later it rained. The work done did not drain the water away from the garage door, as discussed. See photos. Additionally, at several locations along the the new driveways edges cracking started to form. We were told that it was due to a lawnmower driving off onto the lawn. Sure, maybe. After investigating the installation the sub-base was not prepared as contracted, including not installing the geo-fabric, grading for water diversion, and removing roots; all of which were discussed. See photos. As for the cracks and their excuse for the cause, see the photo for the location right next to the house and flower bed. The lack of sub-base prep and absence geo-fabric is the cause of the edge failure. I attempted to have the owner Jim Soprano come out and look at the areas of concern. I really did try, for the better part of a year. Many excuses were provided, but alas he never wanted to talk face to face and acknowledge that it was not installed to the contacted requirements. To be fair Jim showed up once to offer the lawnmower excuse, said I wasn't home. But, I work from home and during COVID I did not leave, ever. Anyhow, I do not recommend using this company for anything, ever.

I was very impressed with the work done on our driveway by The Earth Road Asphalt crew. They arrived with their equipment on time and got right to work preparing our driveway and applying the asphalt. When they finished, they taped off the driveway, gave us an instruction sheet on what to do and not to do to ensure the driveway would not be damaged before it was ready for use. Thank you Earth Road Asphalt for a job well done! Services: Asphalt paving & repair, Parking lot striping

According to your initial quote, our sales estimator clearly stated the wisest course of action would be a drain installation in front of your garage to redirect water accumulation due to the natural incline of your property, before the driveway was installed. You refused due to cost. The result is your garage is flooded as we predicted without a drain. Your problem will be solved if you decided you want a drain.
