I am not a review-writer at all, but I felt compelled to write a review after my visit here. I have been having jaw/facial pain for about a month. Very severe and sudden. I assumed it was dental, and my dentist said I should see an oral surgeon because it might be my wisdom teeth. I visited a different location (not East River), who took an X-Ray. I was made to wait an hour, and nurses would pop in and out to ask "You have pain in your ears right?" (I didn't.) I was disturbed they got my symptoms wrong, and annoyed I was kept waiting to close to an hour for the doctor. The doctor saw me very quickly and said all four wisdom teeth needed to come out. I was frazzled but made the appointment, however, my gut was telling me that something was wrong with how impersonal it was. I decided to seek a second opinion and came here to see Dr. Gavriil - and thank god I did!!! He was surprised the first place did not do a CT scan, and recommended not having my bottom two wisdom teeth out as they were on a nerve and could cause facial numbness if removed. It could not have been a cleaner, friendlier environment with a more knowledgeable, professional doctor. I was put at ease (which for me, a nervous nelly, is hard to do). He really took his time examining me/listening to my symptoms and in the end recommended I see a neurologist for the facial pain. Now I have, and she thinks I may have trigeminal neuralgia, a condition where many people have invasive dental surgeries trying to relieve the pain before they are properly diagnosed. I am inexplicably grateful I came here - I did not undergo unnecessary oral surgery that would not have relieved my pain. When I do get my top two teeth out, I'm coming here and trusting no other doctor for oral surgeries here on out!

Dr. Gavriil is very knowledgeable and very friendly. He answers all your questions and concerns before and after the procedure. I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed and the procedure was over before I knew it with little to no pain. I would highly recommend Dr. Gavriil for all your oral surgery needs

Dr. Gavrill has saved my life twice so I think a review is way over due. 5 years ago my impacted wisdom tooth was also infected and for two nights I had suicidal thoughts(yes it hurt that bad) Dr. Gavrill was able to squeeze me in the next day and saved my life. I had 0 anxiety once I met him in person. He is the most caring doctor one can ask for and his extraction expertise is second to none. I walked out of there with a bounce in my steps thanks to him! Fast forward to today my wisdom tooth on the other side acted up and right away I scheduled to see Dr. Gavrill. To my amazement he actually remembered me from 5 years ago and can even recall some of the small details. He extracted my impacted wisdom tooth within and hour and saved my life again. If you want a great doctor who is an expert at what he does, and also really cares about his patients, he is your guy trust me!

I had the pleasure of having my first wisdom tooth extraction at Dr. Gavriil's office. The receptionists Anna and Liz are such a pleasure to talk to over the phone and in person and made the scheduling process incredibly easy. When I came in for my first X-Ray, Dr. Gavriil recommended that I only remove the tooth that is fully impacted, as all the other teeth have already/almost erupted and did not need immediate treatment based on what he saw. I appreciated the transparency, as the previous oral surgeon I was referred to told me I needed to get all 4 teeth removed. The day of my extraction, the dental assistants and Dr. Gavriil did everything possible to make me feel comfortable and calm. I only used laughing gas and local anesthetic for the extraction and felt 0 pain during the procedure, despite the doctor mentioning that my tooth bone is denser than usual and that my roots were hooked. After the procedure was finished, both the doctor and the assistant outlined the post-op care instructions for me and Dr. Gavriil even offered his personal cell for me to reach out to him if I have any questions or am experiencing any unusual pain after the procedure. Though the recovery process is less than pretty, Dr. Gavriil has kept in touch with me since the day of the extraction and I have never been more glad to go to a specific oral surgeon than I have now. Thank you so much for making this process stress-free and making me feel taken care of! 10/10 would recommend.
