Hoy Plumbing, Heating & A/C of Ardsley, NY (10502) is one of the WORST local businesses I have ever used!!!If I could give 0 stars or negative stars, I would. We had heating problems in the house: the heat kept failing. - They "purged" the system, which got the heat back on, BUT they did not check to see if both of 2 zones were fixed and had to come back next day to fix the other zone. - They repeatedly purged heating system, which was just putting a band-aid on the problem.- They never checked why the heat was failing so often and why he was coming back so often to fix. He just kept purging / "putting the band-aid" back on- After many visits and me strongly suggesting that there must be a more serious problem, they discovered it was a leak- We scheduled an appointment to find the leak- The day of appointment to find the leak, they canceled 1 hour before and Joe told me "YOUR INCONVENIENCE IS NOT IMPORTANT" and that he would be in touch- We had NO heat, in the middle of the WINTER!- Joe got back to me 16 DAYS LATER and was surprised we did not need him anymore - His NEGLIGENCE and UNPROFESSIONALISM cost us more than his bill:- ELECTRICITY FOR SPACE HEATERS- LEAK DAMAGE- PAYING ANOTHER CO. TO RE-DIAGNOSE- We spent around $20,000 for all l, including to make the repairs on something Joe and Hoy Plumbing should have detected early and could have fixed and avoided much of damage and expense, instead of putting a band-aid on the problem for months!- On top of that, Hoy and Joe did not understand why I was contesting the bill for his last "band-aid" and he also said very mean things about my father. - When I told Joe I could easily sue him, he finally went away. - If, after reading this, you still use them, don't say you were not warned!

Our neighbor used Hoy plumbing in an emergency, and had nothing but good things to say about them. We figured in this case we would use them as well. I had a drain that started backing up slowly in my bathroom which did not respond to Drano alone. When they came, they told me what they discovered which was not a simple fix, but was not a difficult one either. Being as thorough as they were, they also went to check my lines to make sure that everything emptied out properly into the main sewer line, only to discover that I actually had two main lines. Joe, the owner, came over and inspected as well, and told me this was not uncommon especially when you have a septic tank conversion which may have happened many years ago. he went on to explain to me the history of the houses in the area, the plumbing involved with them, and the changes that have happened over the years based on the town inspectors. Needless to say I learned a lot about my house, as well as some of the history of why things function the way they do in my house. He obviously has a good amount of experience with older houses, and I'll be using them again when something else comes up.
