What a wonderful company! We hired Dexter for our engagement and wedding photos and were thoroughly impressed. He does fantastic work and has a great attitude. As two people who don't particularly love being in photos, Dexter helped us feel comfortable and relaxed. And we loved all of the pictures we received. Dexter's staff in the office are lovely as well, huge shout outs to Serafina and Cheyenne who have both been so helpful and patient, answering my many questions! I recommend Dexter and his crew very highly!

We had a wedding for 09/02/2023. We were an interfacial couple and I also wanted to take the opportunity to support a black owned business. Leading up to the wedding everything seemed fine, we made payments had meetings where I stressed wanting lots of photos of the reception, etc. Dexter reassure me that what I had booked 7 hours was enough time. Anyway comes the day off we get 2 photographers and we did the first look etc. I remember during the first look feeling very awkward and stiff and honestly thinking to myself how do these photos look because the stance feels weird. Nonetheless I am not the professional photographer, what do I know trust the process. Anyway the cocktail hour ends and the meals are served. The two photographers eat then started packing up. My husband and I were confused, and they weren't the ones to tell us they were leaving, catering came and found me to let me know they were leaving. I asked about the cake? So they snapped a few photos, shook our hands and left. We were both shocked but couldn't very well chase after them during our wedding. Anyway, the host of the reception at Altamont Manor ended up stepping up and taking some photos of the cake cutting for us, but still. No reception photos. I had family flying in, family that was ill, who knows if it was one of the last times were were all together and I wanted to capture us dancing together happy. Aside from photos my family took which wasn't alot because everyone was dancing we don't really have alot. Anyway the wedding passes and I ask dexter what the hell is going on. Turns out it was an admin error where he had put us down for 5 hours instead of 7. We paid for 7, plus their meals but I guess that doesn't matter. Anyway to try and smooth it over he promises to refund us 50% of what we paid. Low and behold he doesn't refund us the full 50%. The photos come back and well my guy was right. My family was able to take better photos than what the photographer did in the first look. We are awkward and stiff. I remember asking the photographer what do I do with my hand? He is just like, let it hang, should have known. Not all the photos are bad. But the artistic talent is missing compared to what you see on the site. For example when we got married it was a blue sunny clear sky, and an even prettier sun set. But in our photos the sky is a washed out white. There were alot of roses and flowers around in the garden, but it got blurred and blended together. I think I would have been fine with the photos if they just got the reception shots of me dancing with my family. Just thinking about it hurts. I messed up hiring them, and I warn who ever is considering them. I know their site looks good and dexter seems chill, but on your big day, you only have one chance to capture this moment. Do your research and be careful who you hire. I can't believe we are the first ones he has done this to, but he has no other negative reviews. If you do hire him, be sure to have a back up handy, or someone who will keep the photographers honest.

Dexter and team were all amazing to work with from beginning to end!  Planning our wedding from out of state and Dexter made it made it easy for us throughout the entire process.  Dexter scheduled calls with us to plan every detail of our timeline for day of, always very professional, and on time.  We had a hiccup with transportation day of, pushing our schedule back, Dexter and Nicole continued to keep us on schedule still allowing us time with our family and friends during the reception, and got the best shots!  Our pictures were beautiful, we couldn't be more happy with Dexter and the team's services! The best in the capital region!
