I walked from the Hyatt Albany Hotel to eat a quiet dinner alone. I like good, simple food and ordering that here was challenging . I wanted a simple salad, but the salad on the menu was had pecans. I asked to substitute the pecans for almonds, walnuts, or pistachios --they only had pine nuts. The pistachios were spicy. I ordered the salad with pine nuts. It was good. I also ordered oysters (delicious). I wanted to order fried calamari, but spicy (so that was a no). I also thought of ordering a burger, but it's 10 oz. and for every addition (e.g., cheese, avocado, etc.,) add $2 - $3. For dessert, the waitress recommended the chocolate with cherries creme brulee (not great). The restaurant tries too hard to make the menu edgy and sophisticated. Clean, simple, food is the best!

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the selection. However the menu online was slightly different than that in the restaurant as I was interested in trying a couple options that were not available upon arrival. That being said the selection was varied and the meals were above expectations. The dessert selection was decadent. A very solid choice for all.

Been a few times now and have had the same experience each time. I have been a little let down given this is attached to Yono's, which I think is the best restaurant in Albany. The setting is nice; the big windows are great and the lighting is good. Tables are spaced too close together, its been a little awkward each time. The service is fine, but a little disappointing when you consider how good it is at Yonos. Struggles during peak times which is understandable but this isnt a cheap meal. The food is a mixed bag. The ideas on the menu are interesting and some of the food has been great, but I think its overpriced for the execution (I don't doubt the ingredients are quality). Like the service, the execution has been a surprise to me given the quality at Yono's. I was served a raw burger that was not re-fired and was instead just heated up, with soggy fries to boot. To me, a great place to sit at the bar with a drink and an appetizer. But if you want the real dining experience just pony up and book in Yono's

had the dp burger and upgraded my fries to the truffle/Parmesan - all i can say is W-O-W. probably the best burger i've ever had - ever. someone else highlighted a picture of it here, but it's basically this dp Burger * $29 (worth the money - even tho it's company paid) Ground Wagyu Beef, Shaved Truffles, Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Oven Roasted Tomatoes, Butter Lettuce, Challah Bun UNBELIEVABLE. i'm staying here at the Hampton Inn, so i'm passing out food coma time. well done i say - well done.
