Family Life Center

I just took a Birth Prep workshop/class with Jessica and she was absolutely amazing!!! I wasnt sure I needed the class, but I am so glad we decided to go. I left there feeling empowered and knowledgeable about what to expect about my labor, delivery, after birth etc Our baby is due this week and I can honestly say my husband and I feel so much more prepared for this journey after taking this class with Jessica. I recommend you taking this class, especially if you have a lot of questions about labor/delivery or if youre anxious about having your 1st baby. I promise, you wont regret it!

I loved Jesss 8 Week Active Birth Class!! I felt so empowered, knowledgeable, and prepared when I birthed my baby, even though lots of things didnt go according to plan.

My husband and I took a birthing class and a newborn prep class through the Family Life Center (both over zoom, during covid). Jess taught one class and Sarah taught the other. Both the classes were informative and helpful as we prepared for our first child, and the instructors were kind, patient, and honestly just really fun-- it was a great way to prepare for having our first baby and we only wish it hadn't been a pandemic and we could have gone in person!

The Family Life Center is a great resource for Capital Region families. Jess and Betsy provided doula services and they were both absolutely amazing. Pursuing their doula services turned out to be one of the best decisions we made for our pregnancy - Jess and Betsy are knowledgeable, responsive, supportive, and caring. They made sure we felt prepared going into labor/delivery and Jess (who was first on-call when I went into labor) supported us at the hospital FOR HOURS on end until our baby was born. Jess and Betsy also provided postpartum support for weeks after our babys birth; this was incredibly helpful as we adjusted to our new lives as parents. We honestly cant imagine our pregnancy and birthing experience without Jess and Betsy, and we are so grateful that we were able to work with them. We highly recommend the Family Life Center to anyone seeking educational and/or doula services.

My husband and I took a birthing class with Jess through the Family Life Center before having our first baby. The experience was truly invaluable. I had read a lot, and also felt fairly comfortable knowing that there were things I just couldnt know until experiencing it, so at first I was unsure about whether a class would be worth it. It was! Jess was so helpful in giving us the information we needed to feel prepared in the big picture, but also helped with all the silly little questions and helped us to feel emotionally prepared and on the same page. She was willing to text with us leading up to and following the birth to give us information or an opinion about anything we needed to decide or prepare for, and to recommend other services her input was so useful and meaningful. I have recommended this class to all of my friends having babies ... definitely worth it.
