Worst insurance agency experience in over 30 years of dealing with various carriers! ZERO stars. Worst experience ever dealing with an insurance agent. Very frustrating and annoying.

Have (had) Pearl Carroll for more than 5 years. Had my Disability car auto homeowners and umbrella insurance policy. I was canceled/non renewed by my carrier due to my roof on my home( aerial pics NOT A CLAIM) . I called 3 different times about getting a new insurance company. I called every week and told them I wanted a policy asap. I was told 2 days before canceling sorry we can't help you. Can't get the money from a bank without an insurance binder to make the repairs , but Pearl Carroll couldn't care less. Hell they can't call you back. 100% blame them for the lack of coverage required by waiting until 2 days before instead of starting when the letter was issued, 30+ days prior. Btw, mortgage companies are processing mid January right now, so that puts it about 60 days out to finalize.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I want to caution anyone considering pearl for short term disability or anyone who has it to be very careful dealing with this company. If I would have read a review like this prior to signing with them, it could have saved me a lot of stress and frustration. I signed up for pearl through my employer. The first red flag was when I signed up through a representative who mishandled my paperwork and signed me up for less of a monthly benefit than what I desired. A higher up within the company attempted to this and backwrite my paperwork, however, due to desiring additional benefits I had to complete medical underwriting where it asked if I have ever received mental health treatment in the last 5 years. I answered yes because I saw a therapist for 2 months in 2021. I was denied for additional benefits due to this. As a counselor myself I found this abhorrent, but due to being pregnant and unable to seek a different company for disability, I stuck with my original $1200 per month policy. I am now 8 weeks into my leave (I had a cesarean section) and my final check is only $840. It was explained to me that I would receive $1200 per month, it was never stated in any paperwork that i would be shorted due to a weekly calculation. I am so repulsed by this company. Their claims examiners are short, unreachable, and unhelpful. Im not sure how anyone who works here sleeps at night. Save yourself the trouble, do your research, and go somewhere else.
