I felt the need to comment because so many positive reviews are giving the wrong impression of this office. Those that have had bad experiences need to speak up. After having a completely traumatizing appointment as a first time mom and cried to my friends about it- they advised me that they all would NEVER choose to go here. My ultrasound in particular was horrible, the woman was rude. I went with my mom and boyfriend as we have been trying to conceive for awhile and this new and precious experience to me was something I did not want to go through alone. They witnessed in horror as I was pushed through and commented on how rude the ultrasound tech was (just so people know I am not exaggerating). I had gone to the ER due to complications previously and was GRATEFUL because I ended up with an ultrasound of my baby confirming they were OK (this is how we actually confirmed the pregnancy and then followed up with the appointment at Albany OBGYN). She did not know I had already seen my baby so she made it extremely difficult to ask any questions and did not bother to even show me his heartbeat until I pried it out of her. Very obvious she did not want to be bothered and rushed through my experience dismissing me like child who got knocked up instead of a women whos been praying for my miracle at 27. When I started going to my new doctor they couldnt believe how long Albany had made me wait for an appointment as well- they questioned why the doctor would not want to see me as soon as possible in my first trimester instead of 8+ weeks when I had gone. But it makes sense after how much I was dismissed- even the person checking me in did not so much as say a word (not even a hello). I went home and cried, I kept saying this cannot be how pregnant women are treated like I understand the medical field sucks right now with customer service but Im not only sick and throwing up- I am TIRED and VULNERABLE why are you treating me like I have inconvenienced your life at the job you get paid to do? and I was RIGHT. I LOVE the new office I am at, I met the doctor who will deliver my child at the first appointment (at Albany I met a midwife who made it clear they do not deliver babies only the doctors- one doctor out of three that I would meet in a rotation but no one knows who actually delivers the baby). Maybe this place once-upon-a-time was great to go to- but like many places this one has clearly gone down hill. I also did learn about their financial issues after leaving- maybe this has an impact on how miserable their workers are, however, I work with adolescents and teach social development to at risk youth and I dont come into work treating people rudely and dismiss them because I get paid the bare minimum therefore I really struggle with those in high stress environments whom feel like they should. Get a different job then, dont shove a wand up someone and start verbally attacking them like the ultrasound tech I met (I could cry all over again just thinking about the interactions I had with the three women there I met and hug every single person I met at my new facility because they have been such genuine people like I originally expected). Seriously- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. And last but certainly not least- check out the birthing room you will be in!!! Check the bathrooms/shower!!! Disgusting!!!!!! I actually saw how dirty the room was and still tried to give them the benefit of the doubt by going to my appointment but the more I think about it Im so glad I listened to how I was feeling. You can see dirt piled up from who knows how long, the shower I witnessed still had hair in it from the last women. I asked if it was recently cleaned and they said yes- I can only imagine if it wasnt clean. Please for the health of you and your child at least bring someone if you can that can clean for you because they certainly are not (probably cannot afford people to clean?)
