Albany Accounting

It has been very hard to work with Michael Crowley. I hired on with Kevin (his son) and have had to continually call and ask for work to be done. We paid $555 a month for services. We started in 2019 for $500 a month with Kevin (Albany Accounting). These services included payroll which was through Michael Crowley and all audits required. I understand Kevin is a separate entity as Michael Crowley's office was extremely clear in telling us so, but our payments went to Michael Crowley. When advised that we still cannot get a tax issue from 2019 resolved or any of the NYS audits that were supposed to be performed, we were told that I was on my own. Even after paying monthly fees from 2019 to 2022. I still cannot get this firm to do the work they promised and have been sent a nasty email from Kevin stating that it was MY fault that he didn't do the taxes correctly. I would stay away from this firm at all costs. Michael Crowley said he would not help because I said I would go to the Attorny General and complain. I have tried for 3 years to correct the IRS problem which was created by Kevin telling me that the IRS changed our EIN number. And then blaming us for not being business savvy enough. Well HELLO that is why this firm was hired. TO DO THE WORK NEEDED OF AN ACCOUNTANT. I wrote 2 emails again with no response to them. They are not taking responsibility for the job they were supposed to perform. In 2019 when hired our payments went to Michael Crowley, all our payroll to present was done by Michael Crowley. The 2 firms will NOT respond and help with the issues that they had previously been paid to do. I lost the ability to receive 2 mortgages through the years due to the laziness and unresponsiveness to even complete our IRS taxes.

Justin Bachus was helpful when it came to doing my taxes. he really knows his stuff! He helped me collect everything I needed for filing in my first year of business!

I have trusted Justin for the last 3 years on my taxes' Its nice knowing not much effort is required on my end. I send him my documents and he sends me my refund amount. Tax season no longer bothers me- Justin takes care of everything.

Kevin has always been professional, friendly, and willing to field all of my questions. Would definitely recommend him to my friends and family.

If I have one recommendation, go elsewhere. We are still waiting on Kevin to do our taxes, both personal and business, and are now incurring penalty fee's from the State since he stopped service and all assistance. After speaking with a tax attorney and a separate tax firm, we've learned it would be too costly to go after Kevin and Albany Accounting to compel his action, let alone cover our extra costs of needing to hire another accountant to complete the work we have already paid Kevin/Albany Account for. After filing unrequested extensions on our businesses behalf, he has stopped responding to all messages and emails and left us in the dark, after paying him $4,800 for the year. Taking weeks/months to reconcile our books, which was agreed to be done monthly; charging incorrect accounts leading to hundreds of dollars in penalties, are just some of the luxuries you can expect with this firm. COVID-19 nearly ended our small business and it is sad that we listened and trusted Kevin and his firm during this time for advice and guidance. Our next letter will be to the BBB and all accredited accounting associated with this firm.
