Courtyard by Marriott Santa Fe

The biggest downfall of this place is the location. Unfortunately, just like the Marriott down the street there are homeless people coming in and out of the hotel asking for change and just in general shady characters around the area. I would not recommend staying here with your family.

Rooms: Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Noteworthy details: My wife and I, based on reviews, were concerned about this hotel. However, we had a great stay over two nights. Based on reviews, we requested a top floor room away from the elevator. This was fortunate because the first floor courtyard had many kids enjoying the pool and adults outside and around the gas heaters. The hotel does have a unique arrangement with two large courtyards and rooms along protected, but open air, interior walkways. Our room was quiet and we enjoyed the stay.

A Courtyard with a courtyard - what a concept! Not your typical hotel; the layout has a lot more personality than a generic rectangle. We got in late and left early, but from what I saw, the room was fine. The carpet felt slightly greasy under my bare feet; maybe that's inevitable after a certain amount of use. I do wish there was a way to force the heater's fan to stay on low instead of cycling on and off all night. Would we stay here again? Yes.

Marriotts friendly and attentive staff offers a warm welcome. The architecture and landscaping exude the charm of Santa Fe. Despite the thin walls, the room layout is highly functional and practical. Large clean bathroom. Plus, the bedding is superb, ensuring a comfortable stay. Walkability: IHOP, McDonalds, Home Depot
