It's really sad when you have worked hard to earn your spot, and when it comes time to try and make it official or try to get information you can't get ahold of anybody; emails, voicemails, tried calling multiple times and when you finally do get ahold of somebody they don't even make effort to have a good attitude. It's not pleasant to have this type of customer service, especially in the education department that represents the state of New Mexico. Teaching is supposed to be enjoyable and supposed to be done with good intentions/effort and with a good attitude. People skills are really important and how you treat people, we teach this in schools but why is it not okay for adults to do this as well? Customer Service from here is by far the worst I have dealt with, I asked to speak to somebody and requested if they could call me since nobody picks up the phone, instead I received an email, and emails are how I got my issues resolved. The tone of emails that were sent to me, I could tell I was being a "burden". I am the type of person who prefers to talk to an actual person. I just don't think its right how they handle not just me but people who are trying to teach in this state. By seeing the reviews, I know I am not the only one. Very disappointed. I hope you all improve this procedure and the experience very soon.

Worst department in the State of NM. And they wonder why NM is lacking in teachers.. They should be ashamed.

I can't believe how rude and unprofessional the NM PED is. I called, left a message got no return call after a week. Called again and talked to a VERY RUDE women. I'm trying to update my license and trying to become a teacher. NM is begging for more teachers. It's gonna be really slow going if you're a total a-hole to whomever calls and asks reasonable questions about teaching. Isn't that your JOB? I guess they really don't give a d*mn. Good luck improving the NM education when you treat potential teachers like dirt.

This is not the correct number for the licensure bureau. Luckily, there is a message giving the correct number but when you call the number the mailbox is full and you cannot leave a message. WOW! Let's get it together people!!

You wonder why this state is one of the worst educated in the country, just look at this department. Nobody cares, everything is disorganized, and information is confusing.
