I found a peaceful, loving and fair place to park my vintage trailer for a few months while my injured leg mended. A change in truck ownership also challenged me during my lovely stay at this quirky, beautiful homestead. Free range eggs (4.00 per dozen), unlimited water, and ability to repower my devices were welcome amenities. The hot shower under the rising moon was an experience that provided calm and beauty. This is the place to stay for real people, real scenery, and real compassion for weary travelers. Heidi and Kahlil, are owners and hosts at the homestead RV Park. They are friendly, and provided needs above and beyond what was required. Like waking up to a huge box of tinder that was needed for my cooking. Or, during the fire ban recently, the offer to cook in their empty camper for a while. Once, frantic that I could not boot up my battery on my laptop with a stress producing doctoral paper due, they lent a power station to me, to power up enough to complete my paper. While I healed my leg, I looked for land to buy. I had been traveling for almost two years looking for that little acre or two to put up my own home and homestead. I actually found that acre not far from here, and horse property too! I plan to begin building in Oct of 2022. The scenery is outstanding, waking up to Sandia Mountain is amazing all by itself. Coyotes will sing and howl at night. Doves and bluebirds fly by daily. Close to town as well, about a 5-minute car ride. Last, but not least is a thank you to their two dogs Bandit and Peaches. They run through the RV park daily to keep it in check and safe. Bandit showed a little sweetness and protection toward me by walking with me when I ventured out to exercise my leg. I bonded with both dogs. Peaches is like a sweet grandma.
