This place is amazing! I highly recommend it for a tranquil get away. We found this gem online and decided to give it a try. We were so happy that we did. I've never been treated better than I was by Lonnie. She is such a light in this world. She's a wonderful cook and a marvelous hostess.

Wonderful place! Serene, quiet, peaceful. Loved the resident animals, and the owner. Lots of local art. Just the right amount of Madrid quirkiness. Loved the migas for breakfast. Very relaxing atmosphere & the massage was too! Also fell in love with the outdoor shower in the suite. Wish I had one at home.

Unfortunately, I was unable to experience a stay at The Lotus. I purchased a voucher on LivingSocial and the voucher expires on December 31, 2016. The voucher clearly states that the paid value of $102 does not expire until April 21, 2021. The Lotus would not take my voucher and said I needed to contact LivingSocial which I attempted to do and the numbers are disconnected. I am a business owner myself and I had ran a promotion using Groupon. The merchant receives a percentage of the sale and they are to read the vouchers and confirm that they agree with what is stated on the voucher. I had to bring it to the attention of the woman on the phone that the voucher stated the paid value expire on April 21, 2021. She placed me on hold to talk to another associate to find out information as to why the voucher stated that the paid value does not expire until April 21, 2021. She came back on the phone to tell me that they signed a contract with LivingSocial that they would except the voucher until December 31, 2016 and that here is nothing that she was willing to do to extend the voucher for me or any other person that purchased the voucher, so I had to leave this review. I paid $90 for the voucher. This business has the ability to honor the vouchers and they simply are refusing to do so. I am attempting to call Groupon since Groupon and LivingSocial merged in October. Hopefully I can at least get my money back. I spoke with a representative with LivingSocial and they have acknowledged that The Lotus cannot legally decline to accept the certificates.
