American National Insurance Company - District Office

The agent I dealt with ran my credit multiple times under the incorrect name and without asking what name to run under or checking to see if I wanted him to run it backwards under a shortened version of my legal name (Thanks for the major drop in my score, by the way). He also got antagonistic towards my lender. I still don't know exactly what was said, but I wouldn't do business with this office if I were looking for a place to cover me again.

Do not recommend this insurance company, at least not at this local office (maybe other branches are better run than this one). My grandmother was a loyal customer for over 30 years and when an issue with the paperwork was not properly communicated while she was alive by the agent and sales manger occurred, I did not find out until after her passing. The sales manager Martha Escarpita basically told me there was nothing she nor I could do now and that she was at fault because she was the supervisor and did not properly follow up or complete the task her agent was supposed to but tried to nonchalantly put blame on me for not calling back since I did not receive written confirmation. It's and not my job to know this nor do I deal with life insurance everyday, so sure that was my mistake to trust them. I called corporate to file a grievance and after she found out and my sister had to deal with them for her own policy, Martha was very rude and unprofessional to her. I then added to the grievance because her customer service skills are unbelievably terrible. Lastly, the written response from corporate regarding the matter basically states that there was documentation that communication and contact was made when it was not, Martha even admitted this on the phone, which tells me that Martha and the district manager Manuel Decanini falsified documentation stating so because he "confirmed" the documention on file. Make sure all your paperwork is in order people, do their jobs for them, and follow up until you have proof in your hands it is done because they will not do their own jobs apparently and lie to cover it up as well as treat you with disrespect and unprofessionalism. These people are dealing with the hardest times and ends of our lives and are acting like it was no big deal, like it was merchandise return or simple problem, I only hope this isn't a regular occurrence for them.
