Their office cant hide this review like they do on their website. Unfortunately, I had developed an infection in a molar that resulted in a great deal of pain and suffering. The dental group was able to get me in right away which I was very appreciative for thinking that I was finally going to get some pain relief. I explained to the dentist that my pain was so severe that I had not been able to sleep more then 3-4 hours total in the last 3 days. I was examined and then told I needed a root canal but this dentist did not have the ability to perform it in his office. I had expected this would be the case but also expected that if I had to be referred out that the dentist might perform a therapeutic pulpotomy in an attempt to clean some of the infection out and provide some relief. This was not offered to me. Instead the dentist decided that because he wasnt going to perform a procedure on me that he could still maximize his per visit revenue by billing me for a full exam to include multiple bite wings (X-rays) to include the opposite side of my pain followed with a full panoramic X-ray. I understand that he is running a business and wants to make money and I was okay with getting the exam at the time because I thought he would help me. However, the physical exam was extremely brief and I could definitely tell that it was just a quick look over so he could document it was done but there was no real effort to perform an actual in depth exam. As the visit came to a close and I being exhausted with lack of sleep due to constant severe pain for the last 4-5 days became extremely disappointed that he didnt do anything to help with my pain. I figured he would at least prescribe me something that would help take away enough of the pain so could at least be able to sleep longer then 15 minute increments. This was not the case. He did not offer anything for pain. I asked for more antibiotics and told him that I had some augmentin at home and that I had been taking it for a few days, but had taken my last pill that morning. He said he would write me for something and then said I think amoxicillin 500 will be a really great antibiotic to help you, or clindamycin. I was shocked when I had to be the one to educate him and tell him that augmentin was amoxicillin combined with clavulonic acid. I then had to tell him what the strength was. He then wrote me the Rx for 875mg. Once finished with our pharmacology lesson he walked away. I asked his assistant what about my pain and she said you will have to ask the Doctor. So I waited for him to come back. When he finally came back I had to literally ask him if he would write me something for pain which was rather awkward. But what made it worse was the way he and his assistant acted when I asked. I was made to feel like a common addict and was then told Tylenol and ibuprofen are the standard of care. I had already been taking both of these and was maxed out on the safe daily allowable dose for both and had done so for the last 3 days. So, no pulpotomy, no pain medication, and an up-sale on the visit to a full exam instead of just focusing on the infected tooth that earned the emergency appointment, and then treating me like a drug seeking addict. I do not understand where the compassion was or how this man is able to treat people like this. I was able to see another dentist 2 days later and had a pulpotomy performed the same day which helped alleviate 50-60% of my pain until the root canal was done a few days later. I might add after the pulpotomy I did not need anything more the Tylenol and ibuprofen and I did not ask for anything because the PROCEDURE was what I needed instead of a 45 second exam that you billed a full dental exam for. I was a real person and was actually suffering in real pain. I came to the office hoping to be helped and only got a bill. I would not see the dentist with the full man chu if you are have a dental emergency and hope for compassionate care. Im sure hes very good at standard small cavities and teeth whitening in the non emergent patient though.
