It is wonderful to discover that the veterinary ideals and ethics I grew up with have not 100% disappeared in the wake of exploding student loans and corporate buy-outs. After a less than stellar relationship with a corporate veterinary practice that kept losing vets (and charging a "new patient" fee to see a different vet when ours left) because they overwork vets like corporate health care overworks doctors.... Dr Matek, Dr Hanosh and Dr Torres are a breath of fresh air. These people are empathetic, caring human beings first and foremost, who light a candle in the waiting room to remind incoming clients to be mindful and supportive of a family having to say goodbye. They remember why they became vets, and explain all the available options (including costs, potential risks and range of outcomes) so each family/individual can make a fully informed decision that is best for the animal and their human. It has been a long time, far too long, since I have had the pleasure of working with a veterinarian who doesn't judge and truly believes that a happy, loving, healthy home with quality nutrition is just as important/more important in determining quality of life (and quality is more important than quantity). Both Dr Hanosh and Dr Matek have helped us find a fiscally and bodily responsible way to allow my 10 year old service dog to enjoy every moment left to her, despite her lungs not being able to tolerate the best evidence based treatment. And their affordability has allowed us to get a new service dog in training, so my beloved service dog can help train my new one while she still has the health to do so. The fact that my mother-in-law's (may her memory continue to be a Blessing) former service dog with (rightfully earned) PTSD loves everyone in the office (and this dog has **never** liked, much less been affectionate to strangers), says louder than words how the staff, and the environment in the office, have been carefully curated to reflect the ideals of the owner and the 3 veterinarians. Bravo! I look forward to a long, and mutually beneficial relationship with Los Ranchos Veterinary Clinic!

Everyone was really nice, the price was very reasonable and Dr. Matek was so good with our puppy Rue. Definitely recommend taking your baby here.

As Im sure others were, I was a bit hesitant to see a new doctor at the clinic wed been going to for years. But - the same amazing staff (heres a cheer to all, & that means you, Kaitlyn) is all there, & Dr Medic is a winner! So patient, so articulate, such a clear desire to help my pooch & to help me understand it all. These folks are beyond the best !
