I was quoted one price and by the time they finished it was a lot more!!! Both door magnets are broken and I need to go by and pick up two. I will continue with them because of the fact I spent so much getting connected to their service. Their monthly monitoring rates are reasonable.

I gave them an opportunity to get a bid on a job for a keypad. I feel like they were taking advantage of me and in a sense felt like a scam. Their bid came back at $1200.00 for the replacement of a keypad. when I asked for a breakdown they wouldnt give one to me I was absolutely blown away this, so I called another security firm. They were out same day and fixed it for $384.00. I was in the talks with alarm research for weeks. And they made it sound like it was a complex project. And definitely were misleading. If you working with this company get a second opinion to make sure youre getting honest work done.

I have been an Alarm Research customer all my life - my mom used them - I used them for my house - I even used them for my business when i opened in 2011. However, BEWARE. I signed an agreement for my business in 2011. We expanded in 2020 to the space next door and I asked them to come in and tie in the outside door of the new space to the current system (the current 2011 system). I signed the paper at the end of the job (thinking that it was a work order) but it was not made clear to me that this was a new contract - a new 5 year contract. Is that my fault? Yes. But - I have used this company my entire life - I trusted them; why would I think they would sneak in a 5 year contract? I found out about this when I went to cancel my contract today and switch to a different company that offers more monitoring services. I discovered that despite leasing that equipment since 2011 (keep in mind - the value of the 2011 equipment is not the same value in 2023 - it is probably not worth very much at all) I still have to pay the entire value just because I added that one door in 2020. I am shocked - disappointed and sad. CAUTION - be very cautious.
