Unprofessional, dishonest, and disorganized. My wife and I had the displeasure of dealing with Miriam Bustillos and her assistant Alma, in the past few weeks. My wife toured the daycare center in December, and did not disclose that our son was autistic and possessed certain developmental delays (non-verbal, is working on potty training but has a way to go). I proceeded to call Miriam myself and explain his situation, and she stated it would not be an issue so we felt comfortable moving our children from the center where they are now to this center. We filled out applications, submitted medical record forms, and on Friday I verified with Alma that the kids were set to start on Monday. She assured me that the kids were set. My wife arrived this morning to drop off the kids, and she was greeted by individuals who had no idea that my kids were scheduled to arrive. To make matters worse, Miriam proceeded to notify my wife that because my son is not potty trained, he will have to attend class with the 2 year olds, and will be placed in a 2-week trial/training program to determined whether he is eligible to attend this center or not. According to her, the state of New Mexico requires all pre-k aged children to be potty trained or they cannot attend. After doing just a little bit of research, it turns out the state of New Mexico has Early Pre-K Program Standards published and available, and they contradict what Miriam has stated. There are 7 Essential Elements set forth by the state, and Essential Element 1.A.2 and 1.A.3 state that the facility is to provide appropriate facilities to children who are toilet-training and that appropriate facilities must be accessible to staff with children who are in diapers. Therefore, when Miriam claimed that the kids are to be already potty trained to be in the program was false. Additionally, Miriam proceeded to give me medical advice over the phone, and she told me that my son's autistic diagnosis was not a valid reason for him not to be potty trained. The Essential Element 2, section 2-E states requirements that these facilities are to adhere to to avoid discriminatory practices against children with special needs. Miriam's proposed "2 week potty training program" failed to accommodate any of the requirements set forth by the CYFD. Because of all of this, we will be in touch with the state. The way we were made to feel this morning, is horrible and I in no way could leave my children at this awful facility. Needless to say, we will never give this center our business nor will we recommend it to anybody.

Director is very unprofessional My son wasnt even there a full two weeks and was turned away due to common two year old behavior... I was told he cant come back until I meet with director. Well, I tried working around her schedule so we can come up with this plan no returned phone calls, nothing. Leaving me unable to attend my own job. Very unprofessional on the directors behalf. My son will no longer attend this school nor will I recommend this daycare.
