image The day my mother was released from the hospital I called MS I asked for my mother, Susan she stated that one of my mom's sons was right there and if I wanted to talk to him but the way she said things was obvious that she knew him personally. Later on that night and for the next several nights Susan kept telling me that I had a restraining order on me and I couldn't go visit my mother. I asked Susan to read me the restraining order, as she started to I could tell right away that she was lying. She throw everything on to me as if I was doing something wrong. I mean who has no right to call and ask how their parent is doing especially if I'm the one who got my mom to the hospital in the first place. I found it pretty strange the behavior that Susan was expressing so I finally talked to Ashley. But Ashley took it as she couldn't do anything because her hands are tied. So basically Susan along wither political friend are involved with the same party and they do each other favors. I guess Susan didn't think I was smart enough to call around to the different agencies to find out where that restraining order was from that's if there was one. Anyways the family end up going to court that following Monday and the restraining order turned out to be a lie as I suspected. Susan knew darn well it was a lie but continue to assist in keeping me from seeing my mother for some reason. I was told that I had to contact a family member in order to visit my mother and let me remind you I'm not the one who neglected her and I'm not the one who was conspiring to cover up what they had done with my mother. So I was allowed to separate visits and on the second visit Susan found it in her heart to contact the guardian of my mother which is her other son to tell him that I had posted something on the Facebook page that she has for this facility. She turned something positive and biblical into something negative and evil. I tried contacting Ashley over and over again to make a report and to try and sit down with her to see if I could get to the end of this evil and to make a report but no response back from Ashley. She always seemed to be out of the office when Id call. I also ended up calling the Denver office to speak to the lady who oversees these facilities and no call back from her either. I finally had to write a letter to the court system that was overseeing this case to let him know what was going on. All the harassment and for what? I also witnessed one of the patients walking around going into other rooms. It seemed like no one had any care whatsoever about what she was doing until she started going into my mom's room. Instead of the facility doing something to take care of the lady who was roaming they ended up closing my mom's door and keeping her under lock and key (mind you this is an old lady who would call family members in the middle of the night to let us know that she needed to be changed because nobody could hear her yelling for help and she has dementia so she couldn't remember that she had the call button around her neck). My mother would be left alone flat on her back (after she ate) behind the locked doors as she was barely able to move so had she regurgitated she would have aspirated eventually (she is not in that facility anymore thank God). So not only will they plot and scheme for their "political favors" and each other at that facility but they will lock down they're helpless frail patient just to make their job easier. The directors and management team are hiding in their office so they can stir up trouble because they enjoy this. The people who oversee all of these facilities sitting in Denver will ignore you especially when you have a good case for a lawsuit. Today I got a call from Gennaro De Santis a proclaiming attorney for MorningStar telling me that I'm lying. Very creepy. Pictures and videos don't lie

Veronica, we regret seeing this level of frustration.  But by our clear records, MorningStar of Albuquerque was never the residence of your mother. Nor are the people you reference in your review on the team at MorningStar of Albuquerque. Thank you for your consideration of these facts.

image Still angry.
If I could post negative 5 stars I would. This place neglected my mother to death. What a sickening tragedy.

We remember your mother with affection, and hope the pain of her loss a year ago is easing with time. We were honored to serve and love her in those final months.

image This is one of the nicest assisted living facilities in the Albuqueruque area. It is centrally located and is walking distance to a nice strip mall. The staff is friendly and the facility is clean. The rooms are spacious, and the care they provide is top-notch. I havent seen any other facility in town with the amount of amenities that Ive seen here. This facility truly puts its residents needs first. I would highly recommend to my family and friends.

image I would never recommend this place to anyone for their loved one. We moved my 90 year old father to the memory care unit in January. At the time, he was completley mobile on his own and had good and bad days with his cognition. Right from the start we realized issues. We paid almost 10,000.00 per month for this care and they said they would only clean 1 Day a week????There was never any toilet paper in bathroom, dirty adult diapers left in room for days, Never any trash bags in cans so we could remove the diapers. Never vaccumed. They continued to charge us monrhly for incontinenance supplies, they did not deliver, we were buying them ourselves. His airconditioner was out the whole month of June and July until we demanded an AC guy be called. When he got there he found a rats nest in the unit. Could not fix thermostat so new unit finally ordered. (Not sure it has been put in yet) They had the brilliant idea to remodel the memory care and put down Very dangerous carpet in the gathering area. Our father hung a toe and fell, broke his hip, had to have surgery. When he left hospital, morningstar was unable to care for him. We had to hire around the clock care, and substitute ourselves to watch him often and still pay for morningstar. The staff made an error on documentation for his pain meds and if we had not questioned them this could have caused serious issues. We gave notice we were moving him the next morning. That night his hearing aides suddenly dissapeared. They did more damage to these later times of his life than they helped. He has not recovered from hip break. They say they dont have the help they need, WELL, DONT spend your money on this place!

Jerry, we deeply apologize (as we conveyed by phone) for the experience you describe. Your remarks are being reviewed by senior leadership to inform any and all operational changes (in care and hospitality) to guard against something similar happening in the future. Thank you for bringing these issues forward.
