Great customer service and easy to work with. I was sent listings on exactly what I was looking for. It was a breeze from the initial phone call to executing the lease.

Absolutely terrible realty company. We had a very similar experience last summer to many others I now see here. We were accused of damaging a sliding door screen. We can't prove that the tear was there before, but we never once used the door during the week we spent there. (Never did I dream that I would need to scour the condo and take pictures of every square inch just to prove we didn't damage anything!) We always treat rentals with great care, as if they were our own. Being accused of damage to the place was not only insulting, Daniels took $370 out of our security deposit. Even if we did damage the screen, which I'm positive we didn't, the repair for it would have significantly less than that. They are scammers and people need to know. No one should rent from them. They will make up a reason to refuse to return your security deposit. We rented from many vacation realtors for the past 30 years and this was the only bad experience we've ever had. Very dishonest company. At least it's good to know that many others have discovered this as well. They are not to be trusted.

I had a horrible Experience with Daniels Realty this summer. My family and I used Daniels Realty to rent a unit in La Quinta Towers in August of 2023 for our week-long beach vacation. When we arrived we noticed that the unit was generally clean but in fairly worn condition. We noticed some specific issues like water stains/discoloration in the ceiling above the shower in the master bathroom, broken and missing floor tiles on the balcony, and a torn screen in the sliding door. As well as various dings/scrapes throughout the unit. It was far from perfect, but in acceptable condition you might expect from a unit that is rented several times per year. The one issue we felt it necessary to report was the slow-draining shower in the master bathroom. We contacted Daniels Realty about it and to their credit they had a handyman come the next day and repair the clogged drain. Since we were instructed to bring our own linens, one of the first things we did after arriving was to strip the beds of their blankets and pillows and replace them with our own. The blankets from the unit remained in the closet until we packed and left on the final day of our trip. At the end of our stay we tidied up and left without incident. Imagine my surprise when I received an email on our drive home from Daniels Realty accusing me of staining one of the blankets. They informed me I would not receive my security deposit back until after they deducted fees associated with cleaning the blanket. I told them I hadn't used the blanket because we brought our own with us, and that whatever stain they saw must have been there already. I was ignored by Daniels Realty. Several weeks later I received another email from Daniels Realty with a copy of a dry-cleaning bill for $42. And Daniels Realty themselves tacked on an additional fee of $102. I was told if I didn't agree to these charges then I would be taken to small claims court. When I asked why the fee was inflated by another $102 I was told that transportation coming and going was included in the amount charged. I was being both literally and figuratively taken to the cleaners to the tune of $51 each way. This doesn't in any way seem like a reasonable way to do business. I had no physical proof that the blanket was already stained, and had no intention of driving back to Diamond Beach to argue in small claims court over $144. The time it would take out of my schedule and the gasoline I would have to consume for the drive wouldn't be worth it even if I ended up getting the fees reversed. I felt I was being extorted by Daniels Realty and the owner of the unit. I had no other recourse so I ended up paying their outrageous fees. In the end I suppose I learned a valuable lesson. Always take photographic evidence of the initial condition of a rental property! The truth is that $144 won't break me financially. But I was very insulted to be accused of something I didn't do, and embarrassed to feel as though I had to defend myself for this non-existant transgression. Shame on Daniels Realty for treating a customer like a vandal instead of taking me at my word. And double shame for charging additional extortionate fees on top of already questionable charges. I should have looked at these Google reviews before booking, because it seems like I'm far from the first person they've pulled this behavior with. You can be sure I will never do business with Daniels Realty again. And I can only hope that my account will serve as an additional warning to those who might otherwise be treated in a similar fashion in the future.
