Since I can not reply to owner's comments. Let me put some fact here. My insurance company does not determine my car as total loss. That is the exact reason I bought car over to have Mike and team to investigate. And I did not have any other shop looked at it before towed it over to Eurosports. (My dealer had a look when the car was functioning 3 months ago.) So the claim below is absolutely incorrect "Your insurance company determined it a total loss and you opted to buy it back from them to attempt repair. You had another shop attempt diagnosis without success and towed it here " . Wow, I can not believe you could make things up like that. If the above is true, go to sue me in court, and I am willing to pay you whatever. I did authorize for the gear shift replacement but that is after you firmly believe that was the issue. I did not proceed with the neutral switch replacement due to 1)your first initial diagnosis was not correct 2)There was no error code as you said. -------------------------------------------- I probably should think of more when I sent my Bmw over for repair when company name itself as Eurosport, as a company that claims great dealing general issues probably not good at specialized one. Anyway, the customer service is wonderful, Michael is definitely very flexible and willing to help. But the technician might not been so. After initial diagnosis, they came back with very strong confidence that my gear shift went bad. Greenlighted with replacement, but turned out that was not the issue. I have suggested that issue could come from neutral safety switch, they sort of accept that after the gear shift fix did not work. But then I asked them what was the error on their car scanner, they said there weren't any from beginning. That raised some concern and I did not proceed the repair. When I went to pick up the car, the technician said he did not know there is a switch inside transmission:-(. Getting back my car, I plugged OBD cable and start INPA. And there are errors in memory and would reappear after clearing. I took out my EGS (transmission module) and saw a pin was bent at the bottom. I called them and they said they did not know. It could be caused by me instead. And of course, there are oily black hand marks on my door left by their technical who should have wearied gloves in the first place. I asked for partial credit because they gave the wrong diagnoses but the owner said no because they spent more time than they charged me. So to wrap it, I think if you just go for a oil change, brake job etc. They should be ok. But I would be very nervous to go there for any serious repair. Btw, maybe one small thing shows their character, when I sent in my car, they quotes 145$/hr, when I went to pick it up, it became 150$/hr. I asked Michael why, and he told me they just raised the price in the past week. I could not help laughing.

Business Response on Google Feb 11th, 2024
Hi Jianwen, I have pulled the original paperwork from your visit on November 29 and reviewed your history with Michael. This was your first visit to Eurosport meaning we have no prior history with your car. It was towed here from having been stored in a building that suffered fire damage. Your insurance company determined it a total loss and you opted to buy it back from them to attempt repair. You had another shop attempt diagnosis without success and towed it here with a no start condition since the shift selector would not register Park or Neutral; stuck in Sport mode. Our technician scanned it and no faults were present. He removed all the wiring to the gear shift selector and found no wires broken. An affiliate of Eurosport had a parts car and we removed the shifter components to replace in your car to determine if it would resolve the shifting issue at a labor of at least 4.0 hours for which we discounted to 2.0 hours since this did not resolve your issue. You declined further diagnosis including removing the valve body for access to the neutral safety switch which is built into the transmission. I want to clarify that you declined any additional labor for time involved to remove the transmission pan, valve body and fluid replacement for us to even access the neutral safety switch for diagnosis. At the time a customer declines, we do not proceed further. Our efforts do not conclude a mis-diagnosis, rather a conclusion of what was NOT the problem. As for your accusation that our technicians are incapable of more than parts replacement is not only grossly inaccurate, but presents an unfair expectation for existing and future customers. The technician who worked on your car is a Master Technician with more than 35 years of BMW experience specifically and is known and widely respected in the BMW community as such. For you to attack our character after 25 years of business is ridiculous. You left your car here for a month, authorized us to remove and replace and try and replace again a used shifter unit you purchased from Ebay and then accuse us of mis-diagnosis after buying back a fire vehicle that the insurance company determined a total loss. We maintain a competitive position in the market and make adjustments to our labor rate as do all repair facilities. If you were quoted an hourly labor rate at $145.00 when the vehicle was dropped off, looks like we owe you $10.00 for the 2.0 hours billed at $150.00. Please contact me separately via phone for address verification and I will reimburse you that $10.00 via check.Susan DoughertyEurosport of Westfield
