Edison Lofts

I lived at Edison Lofts for a year. I couldn't renew my lease due to my mom being sick. The complex charged me $500 for deep cleaning after i moved out and took it from my security deposit. When i asked for why was i charged this, the property manager stated you left the apartment dirty so we had to hire cleaners. I explained i would never leave a property dirty and i took pictures after i cleaned up. They refused a refund. I had to take them to court just to receive my money back. So disappointing.

I'll just state the facts: 1. SMOKING COMMUNITY: Advertised as 'smoke free community' (also written in the contract) but there's ZERO enforcement. No consequences for smoking. It's the place to be for smokers. People smoking (cigarettes, weed, etc) on the rooftop, courtyards, in their units, and in the garage. I have seen hooka parties happen. See photos attached. And yes you smell it in the hallway and sometimes in your unit through the duct. 2. NO DOG CONTROL: The courtyard reaks of dog piss. Dog poops in the courtyard. Unleashed dogs both inside and outside. A ton of aggressive breeds (pitbull, boxer, un-neutered, etc). Again, no enforcement and no consequences. 3. FRIENDLY MAINTENANCE AND CONCIERGE. BUT UNRESPONSIVE MANAGEMENT: No response to the complaints above. There also was a domestic violence incident next door with blood in the hallway. I called the concierge multiple times to intervene, but no response. Had to call the police myself. I wrote to the management about the staff not having proper training but no response. In summary, it's a nice building with a lot of irresponsible smokers and dog-owners in a horrible neighborhood. Hope this helps.

Had a terrible experience with Edison Lofts. Called one day seeking more information, and the person I spoke with told me all utilities were included, and that they had plenty of apartments available. The next day I spoke with the leasing manager who told me the exact opposite, and was shockingly rude to me. Acted like I was stupid for thinking utilities were included, even though their employee is the one who told me that. She also said the website changes every single day and apartments open every single day. When I asked about availability three weeks from the day I called, she said they had nothing. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Plus, both the original person I spoke with and the leasing manager told me people are breaking their leases every day, seems odd. I was really excited about applying for an apartment here, but after speaking with the awful leasing manager, there is no way I would live here.
