Grace Adams after speaking with this woman, Im most certain that African American people steer away from obtaining help as far as mental health because of people like this. Trying to get help with my son, myself my family and with this and talking you become vulnerable. You begin to express yourself hoping someone could understand you without judgement and i am in tears because it just doesnt exist. I was asked to stop swearing while talking and it set me back. Using the h word or the S word while trying to explain the pain my son is going through or my difficulties myself as a mother, i completely shut down. This is why I didnt want to reach out for help and I regret contacting cooper or speaking to anyone regarding this. If i could give 0 stars I would. Im speechless, and she knew she said something wrong because in an attempt to continue the intake I became completely withdrawn. Hurt is an understatement and again, I regret reaching out for help. Not to mention, she advised an 8:00 am call and called at 8:42am asking if I still had 45 mins to speak.

I just wanted to do one simple thing, make an appointment. But after calling twice and spending four hours on hold, I gave up. If you dont want to take appointments or talk to patients put that on your web site and save us all some time.
