Signed a contract June 2021 and still havent had any work started on our Home improvements And so far just lip service when I can reach him. We also gave him a substantial amount of money.

Unfortunately we have not had a positive experience with Mr. Powell. Similar to one of the other reviews posted here, he received a large deposit from me in October to complete various projects in my home. We had vetted his references and felt comfortable moving forward but post collection of 50% of the project costs, we immediately had issues with his communication and his adherence to our agreed upon project schedule. We dealt with it as he showed up here and there and he was very kind and courteous. Sadly at the end of November, he indicated that he was dealing with other issues and we have not heard from him since. He did not complete any of the work he was hired to do and has made no effort to contact us. His lack of professionalism and communication has been very disappointing. I dont understand how anyone can run a business this way. I have asked Mr. Powell to return a portion of the deposit and he of course has never replied to any of my outreach. I caution anyone considering using Mr. Powell in that if you engage with him, please do not give him more than 10% of the project costs upfront, as we have suffered a financial loss and project delays due to his lack of professionalism.

Do not hire unless you are willing to give someone money, get nothing in return, and then have to fight a year to get partial back. And then have to file complaints and police reports. Took money to start job, and never returned. 3/22/21 deposit start of 4/1 4/13 was told "got distracted" after 4 no-replies 4/20 says starting in 2 weeks, prepping drawings 4/27 says town wont allow, even though will. apologized, "making drawings this week" 6/17 6 calls and 4 messages later. "no update" 7/14 asked for pictures of job site so he can do drawings. August - I showed in person, was told he was not doing job and would refund that week. 9/1 after messages no reply. told refund this week 9/29 Got one check for 30% back. 10/20 told still waiting after sever no-reply 11/14 told still waiting after sever no-reply 11/29 told still waiting after sever no-reply 12/20 6 messages over 3 weeks, reply was "i had covid" ill pay after holidays. Multiple attempts, no replies, no refund. Now filing police reports, FTC, BBB, Consumer affairs Service: Remodeling
