I am actually hurt writing this post, for months I begged Dr.Iyer to change my medication around for months she refused. I called her office frantic and no one bothered to call me back for 3 days, shes a good provider but she doesnt listen to her patients thats the short answer be where you are HEARD! I've decided to start leaving reviews about doctors good and bad, because it is becoming increasingly worse these days. Some doctors are horrible towards patients and I believe they will hold themselves accountable and correct their behavior if they are publicly called out on it. My appointment was a consultation so it was my first time seeing Dr. Iyer. As soon as she walked through the door, I knew what kind of appointment it was going to be. She was extremely rude, unsmiling, dismissive, made me feel rushed, and something I experience a lot (being a black woman), acted as if I was dirty and dealt with me as if she did not want to touch me. As if my "dirtiness" would rub off on her. I'm quite sick and tired of this nonsense. My blood is red just like hers and my money is green. I will go to my last appointment with her because I need the information, and after that I will find somewhere else to go. I do not recommend this doctor. She needs to work on her people skills. Additionally, the receptionist was quite rude. I watched how she treated another woman who was there (white) and she cracked jokes and was very pleasant with her. I make it a point to be pleasant and smiling when dealing with people because I know my resting face can look quite serious. No, this is not in my head. I am a grown woman and I've dealt with enough people in my life to know when someone has an issue with you because of your appearance. As I said. I'm calling this nonsense out when it happens. Staying silent does nothing.

She is very attentive and helpful, she is always aware of what you need and does what is necessary to solve your problem

Im surprised by the negative reviews honestly, Dr Iyer and her staff are so kind and compassionate, Ive never had any negative experience whatsoever. I had seen another Endo prior to her that didnt seem to care about my concerns, but Dr Iyer addressed everything and is constantly on top of my Hashimotos disorder and metabolic issues. Its the best care you can find for these issues in this area of NJ. I drive 35 minutes out of my way just to see her because good care is very important to me. So dont believe these negative reviews, they seem more directed to the Atlantic Health org/system rather than the doctor. Shes worth the trip I am very grateful!
