John Righi was hired to do simple tax returns by an elder law attorney named Dan Jerkovic. This accountant charged $ 2200 for 2 years of a simple tax return for my late father. Really what happened was the estate lawyer gave away my family's money to his cronies. I offered jerkovic my dad's accountants information but choose this guy. Then on top of it I can't even get a copy of those tax returns to see if this old clown even did a good job. I don't think this account ordinarily charges this much but when it's carte blanche and rip somebody off day and there's some cash for him, we see Mr Righi takes the money. If he could do this here where else does he bend the rules. I forwarded my concerns to the IRS concerning this. Hopefully not too many of his clients get audited.

My family has issues. My dad died and us siblings didn't get along well enough to sell our dad's home. I brought in a lawyer named Dan Jurkovic who specializes in Elder Law to be administrator and corral the estate in spite of us not getting along. Understand my sister is learning disabled and has one arm. My dad was everything to her. Dan told me in August 2020 he had everything under control in terms of  a timeline to getting my sister out. The house was damaged by her. When Dan finally removed her, she was homeless and living in BJ's parking lot in Paramus. Dan had a plan to sell the house. He was hiring his friend Michelle Korsoy at the real estate agency near his office ERA JUSTIN and that she had a client already and was taking "Only" 6%. This was months before it was listed. I immediately said NO WAY! I have a background in real estate. I managed, rented, and sold real estate for many years in Bergen County. I know the play Dan Jurkovic was trying to play. I am now out of state and had very few options. I was hoping someone would be reasonable but this was a feeding frenzy. Someone else's money. He did it. Michelle Korsoy had up until this point had not sold, rented, listed anything as per the NJ Multiple Listing Service in the town my dad's house was located (across Bergen County). It was sold relatively cheap in my opinion and the commission should have been negotiated. This was a fast convenient dual agency sale at a full price commission and no other agent involved. Sweetheart deal with an additional $24K giving at closing to the buyer. My problem is mostly with Dan Jurkovic. He seemed to be working against our best interests. I offered him the names of professionals I know who worked extensively in the town where my dad's home was and he insisted on Michelle. My problem here is the optics didn't look good. How many homes get listed with 6% commissions? Take that bunch that pay that much and subtract non estate, bank, or court related homes and I am guessing my family paid a generous commission. One would have to comb through records to make that case. I'm willing to take a look to prove I'm right. She could say the house was a mess but the house was sold cheap to reflect that, too cheap and then we paid a mortgage while her buyers waited for a mortgage and then on top of all that,,,,,, gave an additional $24K off. I have more questions than answers. I will say Dan did this to us with my dad's taxes. John Righi charged $2200 for two years of a relatively simple tax returns. I'd wager John doesn't get that much ordinarily. Dan hasn't provided a copy of those tax returns for an independent look to see how good a job Mr Righi did. Again, Dan denied using my dad's accountant. There are several other questionable expenditures that really leave me uncomfortable with this whole thing. The whole thing stinks. Same with thing with our Serve Pro bill. Fishy like puffers and sharks. People say take the money and run. I'd agree in most places but not here. It was my money taken. I'm not saying we were ripped off. I'm just saying I am not happy with the deal. I just want to share this experience and let it be.
