What started out as a responsive, positive experience quickly turned sour when this moving broker sent a company that exploited and took advantage of a family trying to move. We were given the we do a lot of military moves to help sell the package but when I asked the movers if theyve been to the state we moved to (which has a huge military base) neither had.. After 2 calls with our moving contact, extensively going over our inventory, the moving company showed up claiming we had more items and box sizes that wouldnt stack with each other (Uhaul boxes that literally give a stacking recommendation on the box). Even though the size listed on the actual box and the inventory list matched. Almost two thousand dollars wound up added onto the quote originally given by the broker. We were fully complicit with any added charges that we didnt claim. Its a move, theres always going to be few miscellaneous items you forget or have to add on. But it was very clear that they came into our lives with every intention of exploiting the fact that we didnt have another option and needed our belongings moved immediately. After a 7 hour move for a medium sized 2 bedroom NYC apartment during which we were made to feel like we were a massive inconvenience to the men packing our lives into a truck, one of the men asked how much my husband tipped them with an eerie smirk. Their uhaul truck was packed from front to back that the official Uhaul site claims will store a 3-4 bedroom house for a move. They strategically had our mattress packed last and stood up so I couldnt see how the truck was packed. After a few days of hearing Ill call you back, it was clear that 3 sons didnt have any intention of returning our calls to suss out these added charges, any damages, or any of the things that didnt make it to our new home. Im embarrassed to write this review because I was clearly a sucker from the second I made contact with them, but it felt necessary to give any and all future prospective customers fair warning.

I called My 3 Sons (main quote number) during my search for movers that would move my household goods, store them and move them into my new home. Comparing what I was told by My 3 Sons to other companies, My 3 Sons gave me all I asked for. My mistake to believe it. The "sales" person on the phone told me they could store my goods in the state I was moving (Colorado), the storage would be less than $400 a month, and then they would move it to my new home. (I'm a veteran and they sold me the we "love" and support veterans talk, too.) When the actual driver for the movers (who I still thought was a driver for My 3 Sons) called a few days before pickup, I asked if he was going to straight to Colorado and he said no. They would not be going to Colorado - that it wouldn't be stored there. I immediately called my "account" contact who said the sales person must have forgotten to put that request in and at this time they would have to search for another driver and it could effect my move date (I'm less than 4 days from moving and closing on my home at this point). We agreed on storing my household goods near Raleigh, NC (close to where I was moving from). Not ideal for me but I could live with it because really, what could I do since I was closing on the house I was living in. Moving day comes and the driver tells me when he arrives he is NOT from My 3 Sons, that My 3 Sons is a broker. I did NOT know that. AND that my items were going to be stored in Miami, Florida. Needless to say I was very frustrated and concerned. I texted my account rep (too mad to talk with her) and she assured me the movers were legitimate. The movers were great (I would go to them directly next time vs paying My 3 sons a few thousand dollars for very little but selling me on junk to get my business). My 3 Sons - why can't you be honest? Because if you tell people the truth they might not use you because its hard to schedule moves and give them exactly what they want? I'm sure its very difficult to do all this scheduling. But leaving out details like you will broker out the move and that the customer might not get the storage location requested should be front and center. I appreciated the 5% discount as a veteran but cut out the "we love vets, we move them, etc" - its another way to snag the customer. Your sales and account people are very well trained for sure - they do their jobs well - just not honestly. I'm sure bonuses and sales pressure from leadership are good motivators. The moving business must be very competitive but why don't you become an "honest" company? I'm sure there are many people that would use you just for that instead of holding people hostage (which is how I felt) and having them find out on moving day what the real scoop is. The only reason you got my one star is the moving company that you brokered with was very good. You lost the rest because I believe you have deceptive practices in order to get the sell. Do better.

My family and I moved from Pennsylvania to Michigan. Everything went so well. The crew was professional and really took the time to carefully handle all of our things. I felt comfortable from the beginning! Ron was knowledgeable about everything and coordinated my move perfectly. Lisa answered all of our questions and kept us updated throughout the move. I really am so happy with the service My 3 Sons provided. They turned a normally stressful event into a pleasant experience. Thank you for everything! I hope we don't have to move again for quite a while but when we do, there's only one call I'm going to make!
