We have sent our son to almost all of the IOPs in central New Jersey, and for the most part found that provided babysitting with little emotional care or support. Ctrlcare's model (smaller groups with caring facilitators and therapists) provides a much needed service to a community of people - young adults with mental, emotional, and/or behavioral conditions - who require much more support than the current medical system provides. Our son connected with the therapists and counselors at CTRLCare and, with their help, connected with the other young adults in a way that facilitated growth for him (and for others I think!). If you need an IOP or other similar service, I strongly recommend Mary Kate and her team - they actually care about the kids! :-)

CTRLCare is an incredible organization filled with people who genuinely want to see you get better. I had struggled with anxiety and confidence issues for the majority of my life, and I had used technology to cope and distract myself from these negative feelings. After decades, I had decided enough was enough and I gave CTRLCare a call. When I went for my initial evaluation, I was so surprised how easy it was to talk to MK. I'm notorious for struggling to open up to people but for some reason it was so easy to tell her everything even though I had just met her that day. From that initial evaluation alone we instantly recognized there were deeper issues at root and with that I signed up for the program. The group sessions were incredibly helpful. Not only was I able to open up and provide my perspective on things, but the other members were very understanding to my issues. I didn't think I would form genuine friendships at this place but I honestly did. Michelle and Carli were amazing but I have to give a huge thanks to my personal therapist Matt. Matt is one of the most relatable people I have ever met and I didn't feel like I needed to hide anything from him. He was very easy to talk to and he listened, which just made it even easier for me to talk to him. I had a crazy journey during my time at CTRLCare but I emerged a stronger, more secure person who knows exactly why I used the coping mechanisms I did. I can't recommend CTRLCare highly enough for anyone who's struggling with technology addiction or for anyone who isn't sure exactly what's wrong but is ready to break out of a self destructive cycle.

CTRL Care is a beautiful place. I joined the program for stability and to help with my addiction. By the time I left I had not engaged in my addiction for a month and had been utilizing coping skills for my daily depressive and anxious tendencies. MK is a generous and intelligent spearheader of the programs at CTRL Care and I trust her to care for anybody and everybody. Carli was my personal therapist and she changed my perspective on a lot of my struggles which in turn helped me deal with them better. Even from a non professional standpoint, Carli, MK, Michelle and Matt create such a family like environment and really prove to all the patients that they want to see us do better. The influence they have had on my mental is immensely positive and I will always remember the summer that I went to CTRL Care.

Going to CTRLCare was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was in their adult program for 8 weeks, 3-5 days a week. Before this treatment program, I was heavily addicted to technology and I had trouble accomplishing very simple goals. Since the start of this program, I have been able to make advancements in my career and education, and I have a very healthy relationship with my devices. The clinicians at CTRLCare were all extremely helpful. Their knowledge of addiction and mental health and their relatable personalities made individual and group therapy feel comfortable, welcoming, and productive. I knew this was the place for me from my first phone call with Michelle. Matt, my individual therapist, helped me learn about my anxiety, how it contributes to my addiction, and what steps I should take. Carli and MK helped me manage my detox from social media and planned out my steps for reintigration. Before CTRLCare, I was always hesitant to do group therapy because I didn't like the idea of sharing personal issues with strangers. The clinicians and other patients created such a welcoming athmosphere that I ended up sharing on my first day in group. This program truly changed my life and I am forever thankful.

Taking the steps to tackle mental health is extremely daunting, I know from a lot of experience, but I can almost guarantee that CTRLCare will be one of the best decisions youll make when taking those necessary steps. The staff are some of the most genuine and caring people I have ever met, especially in the world of therapy, who want nothing but the best for their clients. Ive been through a lot of therapist and psychiatrist, but my personal therapist Matt was definitely a beacon of light in a time where I had basically given up on getting better. Also, I have to shoutout MK, Carli, and Michelle for being absolutely incredible as well. The smaller groups allow for more meaningful discussion and treatment, the discussion topics provide a tremendous amount of insight, and the skill sets that are taught (both DBT and CBT) allow for a great foundation in improving your mental health outside of the facility. That being said, I highly recommend CTRLCare, it was one of the best decisions I could have made when choosing an IOP program and hopefully the same can be said for you.
