McKeever Dental Care

I know moving and having to change doctors can be nerve-wracking, especially when one needs a procedure that may be invasive, such as seeing the dentist. Being a clinician myself doesn't allay the anxiety that comes when my role is switched to being the patient. I chose Dr. McKeever based on his training with the Pankey Institute as he would have a clear understanding of dental functional occlusion and that he has an in-office lab with a porcelain restoration milling machine. I had no clue what his personality and bedside manner was. Well, I cracked my molar on a fish bone, and I went in as an emergency patient. Dr. McKeever welcomed me and reassured me. The most anxiety ridden part of any dental procedure is the numbing part. Even though he knew I was a fellow dentist and that I knew what to expect, he talked through every step before proceeding - "I'm going to shake your cheek so that you don't feel the pinch. I'll wait a few minutes to give the second injection after the first one takes effect." When the role is switched from being the provider to being the patient, it doesn't matter that I know what's ahead. It is still comforting to be treated as an anxiety ridden patient. The procedure went through very quickly and proficiently. He and the assistant worked together in a graceful concert. My porcelain onlay was milled in-office and was cemented in within half an hour. There was no need to have a temporary restoration and to return for a second visit. He was detail oriented in the clinical aspects that mattered, such as precision fitting (margin integrity, occlusion, anatomy of the restoration, surface texture, application of medicaments to reduce sensitivity, etc.) It was fast and efficient. Moreover, he is warm and personable. I had an amazing experience! Dr. McKeever is a great clinician with a great calming and reassuring bedside manner. His staff is also amazing.

Great atmosphere. Doctor was friendly and Informative. Hygienist was pleasant, thorough, and concerned about my comfort.

Dr McKeever and his staff are wonderful. We have been going to Dr McKeever for years and travel from out of state to come. He is the only doctor we trust. He is highly competent, knowledgeable, and very kind and gentle. We greatly appreciate the entire office staff.
