Next issue, was a leak coming from the upstairs bathroom into our downstairs bathroom chandelier. We had our insurance company take a look and then we told Ray and Giovanni to come so we could pay to have the ceiling patched. This looked horrible because they used different paint then flat and it had a sheen to it, but we still paid them! My husband literally SPENT HOURS trying to figure out by pouring water down all around the bathroom to come to no conclusions. They had their plumber come and he said in front of my husband and Ray that the whole shower pan should be redone because there must have been a tear in the pan and the grout all had cracks in it. He said the guys who installed the tile did a bad job with the grout and must have torn the pan and also sad the guys who installed the glass around the shower also did a bad job because the door didnt even close properly and still doesnt! This issue was their fault the whole time and they acted like they were doing us a favor? Um, if it was done correctly this wouldnt have been a problem and wouldnt have needed it redone in the first place. Next issue was a big storm was coming and our sump pump wasnt sounding right so we wanted it fixed to avoid ALL THE WORK OF THE FINISHED BASEMENT being ruined. We paid them to put in a new sump pump and my husband SPECIFICALLY told the plumber to empty the water and clean out any debris because he think it could have gotten stuck on something. HE DID NOT LISTEN and our entire basement FLOODED!!! How would you feel after spending a ton of money to finish a basement and then it floods? Anyone at this point would lose their minds. The plumber agreed to come out and fix HIS MISTAKE and now all of a sudden it worked fine??? WHY DIDNT HE DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME??? Again, the mess was cleaned by my husband. After this, the CLOSET they installed COLLAPSED after 4 months of holding our stuff up!! This was a huge pain because we wanted our basement finished primarily so we could have a closet set up down there. When the closet collapsed I contacted Ray and Giovanni and they said we put too many clothes on it!!! Are you serious??? If the length is there it should hold especially if installed correctly and put in a stud as a real professional should. Once again, my husband had to clean up their mess and buy new shelves to put up because they never answered their phones to fix this. My husband always was doing extra work to try and solve all the issues because of poor work, cutting corners, and negligence! We have never heard so many excuses before EVER! Most of the time when we tried to contact them they DIDNT EVEN ANSWER! You would think they could have the decency to come back and fix their mistakes especially because they made $60,000-$70,000 in less than a year. But, this is how they treated us! What is most upsetting is the money we spent, but also the amount of time and energy my husband had to put in fixing all the mistakes and making everything okay. Imagine living like this for an entire year with constant problems and raising a one year old! So much time my husband wasted that could have been spent with our daughter or enjoying himself, but instead was CONSTANTLY dealing with contractor problems. Ray and Giovanni get to sit back and count OUR MONEY and move onto the next victim, while my husband and I still have to deal with these problems. They have not returned any of our calls and or fix their work at all! It is very sad. All we wanted to do was get he work done and have everything work out and yes I get it sometimes mistakes happen but this many??? We just want it to be fixed thats all and not ignored. We totally feel we have been taken advantage of. We truly want everyone to understand what we went through and are still going through because at this point we now have to rehire someone to fix their work. Once again spending more time and money. This has truly ruined our lives and I hope nobody else has to become a victim like we were.

Had them do work for us when they first started figured we could trust them since we knew them through very close friends. They did do great work and hustled and tried their best but after they were finished with each project we had multiple problems a couples months later some they fixed and some that are still not resolved. Heres just a quick list of problems we had.. A sump pump they installed didnt work and we had a flood after just finishing our basement. We had extra charges that were added on at end that wasnt agreed on. Shower glass door installation doesnt close properly. A sink install with leaking pipes and loose faucet. A closet install that collapsed and we were told we had too much clothes hanging. And the biggest problem and still unresolved a leak from a shower install going into our downstairs bathroom. We had this leak start a couple months after they installed the shower. Their plumber came back looked at it and said their tile guys must have ripped the pan and that he would just need to reinstall the pan. So instead; they did a quick fix and siliconed the surrounding area which stopped the leak for a little, less than a year later the leak came back! We have reached out multiple times not to be annoying but to have them fix mistakes that happened way too often. It became a huge hassle and they tried to always make excuses. I dont know how many times someone has to ask nicely to have it fixed before we had to leave a bad review. This issue is a major concern for my families health which is why this is most frustrating, my wife is pregnant and we have a 2 year old that is breathing in the mold coming from this active leak and all we wanted was for them to fix this major problem from the start! Dont be fooled most of there 5 star reviews are from their family, what a shame! Just fix the problem and you wont have to hear from us ever again and I will make this review disappear..

I am leaving this review because I would NOT recommend using this contractor or business at all. I cannot fully put into words the amount of time, stress, and constant problems using this contractor has caused for me and my family. Let me start off by saying you shouldnt mix family or friends with business/money but we figured if we are going to give our money to someone it might as well be someone we are close with. The only issue is you never see the future problems that could lie ahead. We decided to give our money upwards of and or over $60,000 to both Ray and Giovanni and the Outline Business. We needed a lot of renovations in our house and were happy to go with Outline. To put things into context, we own an Air B and B in Belmar and have an upstairs unit and a downstairs unit. The workers Ray and Giovanni hired to do the jobs were unqualified, unprofessional, and did not follow standard procedures. For example, the workers had children on the worksite however, we looked past this as we put our trust in Ray and Giovanni. From the start we agreed on a set price and since they helped us out to get a quick start on the work and in a short time frame, we even told them we would buy the cabinets for the upstairs unit even though they agreed to pay for them and included it in the price, which ended up being close to $3,000 extra that they made off of us. As they began the work, my husband noticed the workers were hot and uncomfortable, so he ran out the same day to get an AC unit that was very expensive and he did not plan on keeping it. He would return it after the job was done. He told Giovanni to make sure he kept the box clean and that he planned on returning it and had the receipt to do so. The AC unit ended up getting BEAT UP and the box was torn to pieces! Giovanni felt bad and said they would buy it because they could use it on other job sites. Then, Giovanni suddenly changed his mind and my husband was stuck keeping this $700 AC unit we didnt need, that was now beat up! The next issue happened when my husband asked if they could knock down a wall. They said it could be done, however after they knocked it down my husband noticed the ceiling started to sag which was pretty scary so they figured out a way to fix it (or so we hope so). They put wooden 2x4s and pulled the ceiling up by attached it to the roof rafters. This ended up being more money in the end because it wasnt in the contract. If my husband knew the ceiling would sag and the wall couldnt be taken down we wouldnt have done this. Therefore, he got a surprise charge at the end that my husband felt (from experience) this charge usually falls onto the contractor or is spoken about before buying the material and just doing the work. Instead of arguing, my husband paid because he knew they helped by getting the job done quickly. My husband then again put out extra money, this time around $1,000. After they finished the upstairs the next day we had people rent our Air B and B. They never turned on the Hot water heater and there was plumbing issues they said they needed to still fix. Our tenants were not happy and my husband had to defend himself on Air B and B customer service to explain why he received a 1 star review from this situation. My husband wound up refunding the tenant for their stay, therefore again losing money because they never turned the hot water heater on. Next, the hallway and doors were agreed to be painted. Giovanni and Ray sent someone to come out who didnt finish and left the doors unpainted. The next day they said oh my bad and sent someone out. The person they sent to do the job was not professional and had walked over from the train station because he lost his license! He came ready to paint the doors WITHOUT ANY SUPPLIES and asked my husband if he had brushes and rollers, which he didnt. My husband told him to come back another day when he was prepared AND my husband DROVE HIM BACK TO THE TRAIN STATION!!! Who does this??? Long story short, my husband ended up painting the doors himself.
