I regret having to leave a negative review, especially after being a loyal client of Henrys for years, but after my visit yesterday I feel that I have to let people know about how I was treated. I usually get acrylic nails, and each time I have an old set removed, Ive observed that Henry pries the nails off rather than soaking them off which would be the correct method. This has often left my nails raw, damaged, and stinging, but until yesterday it hadnt been too much of a problem. Yesterday, I went in to get my acrylics removed and to get a plain gel manicure. The young woman who was helping me (who also happened to be 40 minutes late for my appointment) cut my nails down and immediately began trying to pry the acrylics off with a spare nail as Henry often does. She started with my left pinky and actually ripped a small chunk of nail out. I was so surprised by this and it stung so badly that I started crying. Nobody in the shop, including this woman, apologized to me or asked if I was okay. I allowed the woman to finish painting the other nails, to try to make the most of a bad situation, asking her to please leave the damaged nail alone. She immediately tried to put polish on this open wound and I had to pull my hand away before she could. I really doubt that this person is licensed in any way if she tried to put nail polish on a fresh cut, because its common sense that this just shouldnt be done. Rather than apologize, she told me that my acrylic was too strong and that this was the reason my nail ripped open, and not because of her mistake. She charged me full price for this botched job, and Im concerned that this business will charge others for their unsafe practices as well. Id recommend that you exercise caution when going to this salon, and I hate to say that I cant return after having my fingernail torn, not receiving any apology, and then having to pay full price. I thought that I was a valued regular but I guess I was wrong. It goes without saying that I wont be able to get my pinky nail done until the missing piece grows fully out, which could take a couple months.
