Pleasant Run Family Physicians - Primary Care Partners Affiliate

My experience at Pleasant Run has been first rate for three years. My primary physician, Erica Gilroy, warmly cares and listens well, reviews my health history carefully, looks at the big picture and how the parts relate, is broadly knowledgeable and thorough, and follows up conscientiously. I credit her with helping me in multiple ways to be in pretty good shape as I reach 80. Office staff I have encountered ... Gloria, Brittany, Kristin ... have been welcoming, efficient, and helpful. I consider Pleasant Run Family Physicians to be a community treasure.

For the most part, everyone there has always been nice to me. No complaints with the physicians assistant I see- she's always pleasant, thorough, and has great bedside manner. The biggest struggle I've had with this practice over the years has always been that they tend to be slightly disorganized, and there appears to be a lack of communication between employees. Their preferred method of communication is by using the message feature on their online portal. This is usually okay, but if you need a more immediate response or, for example, are trying to switch pharmacies, a reply can take a long time or go unnoticed. And, it's difficult to get a nurse on the phone or to get hold of the receptionist to make an appointment.

When they asked about the scars on my arms years ago, I said "They're from self harm" and their response was "Oh, okay." No follow up questions, nothing about mental health. At the time I thought nothing of it. Now that I'm an adult I realize how Pleasant Run just ignored my mental health during my physicals. Thankfully I've found treatment and assistance later in life, but Pleasant Run could have saved me so much extra suffering had the doctors been more attentive.
