Poor workmanship and took more than a year never finished a simple decking job.  I ended up hiring another contractor to finish up his shoddy work

Had to give one star because wouldn't allow 0. Homeowner beware. Do not hire Dan Berkey, aka J G Humphrey. We wanted a small extension done on our dining room, was suppose to start in April of 2021. Didn't start digging foundation until June 2021. Had hole in the ground until October of 2021. Finally poured concrete for the floor but can't lay hard wood floor over it because of lumps, bumps holes etc.  Have to have it fixed before we can lay hardwood floor. He never came out to check on progress, never came out to see if done properly. Only showed up to get a check.  Just now finished room in February of 2022. Only wanted a an 8 x 14. Took a year only because of constant phone calls from our end. Still is not what we wanted. But wanted to be done with him. Please do not settle for him. You will regret it. He's been fired from other jobs. Just look at other reviews.

JG Humphreys was hired to do a major home addition to our residence. Dan Berkey is very unprofessional and is far from truthful. After delaying our project for several months, Dan began the work on our residence without obtaining the proper permits from the township which resulted in fines and a cease and desist order from the township inspector. We are now left with 3 foot deep trenches surrounding the back of our home. We highly recommend staying far away from JG Humphreys. Service: Remodeling
