American Flyers

Went to the Morristown location for an introductory flight. Everyone is super helpful. Had the luck to work with Ethan and also with Daniel. First time the flying part had to be rescheduled due to unfavorable weather. Just had the flight as well. Fantastic experience. Recommending everyone to try.

This school had told me at 60 hours I was going to have a ppl a year and a half ago. I'm at 165 hrs and still no ppl. My latest checkride was cancelled last minute because the school says we dont have a plane for you. They are down for repair, huh? The last checkride I had to discontinue because the schools plane tire brakes failed. I been signed off & endorsed 3 times and on my 10th instructor in a year and a half. But everytime something keeps happening with the school. I have 2 small kids a family and I took out a loan at the age of 35 and changing careers and I'm feeling emotional, frustrated, angry and being taken advantage of. I will be taking legal action. I do not recommend this school. Please be carefull or you will be in a financial nightmare like I am with no one in their company to help you. I am going in tomorrow to transfer out. !!!!!!!!!

Started training in May 2022 for my private, finished February 2023. Most of my training was completed during the summer since I am still in high school. Over the summer my training experience was excellent and I learned a ton during that time period. However once school started I feel like I was tossed aside in the scheduling process. It was a constant uphill battle to get on the schedule at the correct times. I would set my availability, and they would give me the exact opposite. When I would try to change it to the correct time, I was told all the planes were booked already. This was extremely frustrating and severly delayed my training several times. Several instructors also agreed that without these issues, I would have finished my check ride by early December. I trained primarily with Ben Ridgeway, who if you have the opportunity to fly with, will love. Ben is by far the best instructor I flew with at American Flyers. He was patient with me and allowed for me to grow as a pilot. He is also pretty young which allowed me to connect with him better and understand when I really needed to improve a landing or maneuver. Ben over prepared me for my check ride and without him I probably wouldn't have passed.

Woke up to find my FAA written exam was dropped from another flight school at Caldwell/Essex airport. I called American Flyers at 8am and with the help of the very gracious people there was able to set an appointment a noon today. These guys are awesome, I should have gone with them first.
